This report is to investigate the relation between detergency of foam washing and viscosity of bulk liquid which has an effect on foaming, foam drainage and stability.ΔD was calculated by removal rate of immersion process and foam washing, and that is used to show the transport action which is one of process in removal phenomena of particles from fabrics.
Increase of viscosity of bulk liquid with adding CMC F110 and PVA217 to bulk liquid increased quantity of liquid in foam. However, addition of CMC F110 over 0.2% and PVA217 over 3.5% decreased quantity of liquid in foam because of decrease in forming ability of air/liquid dispersion.
Increase of viscosity of bulk liquid obtained by changing p H, type of additive substrate increased ΔD. The pressure in foam which express the transport action increased with increasing viscosity of bulk liquid. So we can conclude that viscosity of bulk liquid affect the transport action in foam washing.
