The purpose of this study is to clarify a dressing image and a color effect of women's suits. Fifty-four female university students participated in the experiment. The colors of suits worn by two women of about twenty and fifty years old were changed using CG and used as samples. The image and the character of a wearer of total 70 samples were evaluated at five levels with SD method. Evaluated values were analyzed by using factor analysis, analysis of variance, and canonical correlation analysis. The results are as follows:
    1) The image of women's suits is composed of two factors: “formality and “femininity”. The character of a wearer is composed of two factors: “activity” and “friendly feeling”.
    2) An “age of wearer” and a “color combination of suits” influenced the formality in the image of suits. A “color of jacket and skirt” and a “tone of jacket” influenced the femininity.
    3) A “tone of jacket and skirt” influenced the activity in the character of wearer. A “color combination of suits” influenced the friendly feeling.
    4) A formal and a feminine factor will increase if women of about twenty and fifty years old wear suits of pale tone, and a casual and feminine factor will increase if they wear suits of nearly yellow, or vivid tone and pale tone. And then, the suits of combination by jacket of low value and skirt of high value have the effect of increase in casual and manly factor, and the suits of combination by low value and low chroma or achromatic color have the effect of increase in formal and manly factor. Also, the character of wearer is different by age of wearer.
    5) It is judged modest that suits have formal image, and it is evaluated friendly feeling that suits have feminine image. It is found from these results that character of wearer is composed of image of women's suits. Namely, the dressing image that is whole image of wearer is determined by an image of suits.
