To develope a quantitative measurement of clothing pressure, the validity of theoretical calculation was investigated on the uniaxial tensile deformation. In experiment, some cylindrical models were used which had various radius and compressive property simulating the human body. The validity of theoretical calculation was investigated by stress-strain curves of clothing materials which had measured by those cylinder models and tension tester. The results show that stress-strain curves of clothing materials determined by the cylinder model of hard compressive property agreed well with those determined by a tension tester. By contrast, a high agreement is found between the stress-strain curve by a tension tester and those determined by low compressive cylinder model which does not decrease its radius regardless of increased stress of the tension.

The purpose of this study is to examine how women's consciousness and behaviors vary with their clothing according to their age, life environment and occupation. The Lickert method was used, as the method of survey, on the basis of the three check items; the standard for selection of the clothings, the sense for wear of the clothing and the behavior for the purchase of the clothings. The survey was conducted on three different populations; girl students, their mothers and general working women.
As a result, the standards for selection of the clothings were identified by some of the image to women's selection of the clothings according to the place of life. The factors of the sense for wear of the clothings were represented by five factors.
It was found that the relationships between behavior for the purchase of the clothings and the sense for wear of the clothings varied with women's age, life environment and occupation.
