    This study refers to analysis of terms on impression of the new costume design for ladies appeared in sections of fashion reports of commercial newspapers. About one thousand terms, all of them are adjectives, we count the frequency in use of them according to seasons and checked the periodical changes.
    After examining the top ranking 35 terms during the recent three years, but six seasons because of every spring-summer and fall-winter, they are classified into four types. Among them one is a type called “usual term” which appears frequently and constantly in every season. And other one is a type called “variant term”which varies irregularly according to seasons.
    Furthermore, for the purpose of showing relationship between average counts of frequency during the six seasons and coefficients of variance, the following formula is made:
    y=ax-b
    x : average counts of frequency during the six seasons
    y : coefficients of variance
    a, b : experience constant
    Therefore, it can be said that the major terms called“usual term”represent the basic concept in ladies' clothings in spite of fashion trends in any season.

    (1) There were the increase or decrease in six items of clothes among 25 items in three years.
    (2) The characteristics of items were able to be explained by using the combination of the increase or decrease in the trend of quantity and the high or low value of EP.
    (3) In clothes, the relation that the increase of the price introduced the decrease of the purchased quantity was introduced.
    (4) If EP became higher, the purchased price rapidly increased.
    (5) If EP became lower, the purchased quantity rapidly increased.
