    The purpose of this study was to propose a new spherical region display model applied to the upper and lower joint limitations in the Indication Table of Joint Movement. First, this model assigns the range of motion (ROM) to the circles lying on the surface of a unit sphere centered at the fulcrum of the goniometer. These circles can be viewed as the boundary curves of the region defined via the joint motions. These curves whose length gives the joint angle are called arc vectors of the joint angle. Furthermore, from the exterior products of two joint vectors, the model constructs a part of a sphere surface bounded by these arcs. The sum of these parts is equivalent to the corresponding spherical surface regions for the joint limitations. An example of the use of such models is shown with a computer. It may be useful to visualize the differences in joint limitations between those of the presence or absence of dysfunction.

    We study the morphological charactearistics of Japanese adult male. The data are extracted from the anthropometric survey carried out by the Agency of Industrial Science and Technology in 1965 1972, 1978-1981 and 1992-1994. These data are referred to as the data of the 1st measurement, the 2nd measurement and the 3rd measurment respectively.
    Conclusions are: (1) The averages of the 3rd measurement are larger than those of the nation-wide measurment (1978-1981) in stature, total posterior arm length, chest girth, lower waist girth and hip girth (significant at less than 1 % level) .
    (2) In the data of the 3rd measurement Rohler Index, Body Mass Index and proportion of hip girth to lower waist girth increase with age and the values of Drop (chest g.-lower waist g.) decrease with age.
    (3) We have applied the method of the principal component analysis to the data of 30's age male whose stature were 170cm. We consider that PC1 is a size factor, PC2 is a limb length factor, PC3 is a contrast of upper trunk width with lower trunk width. The averages of PC1, PC2 scores of the data of the 3rd measurement are larger than those of the 2nd measurement (significant at less than 1% level) .
