In this study, we attempted to analyze fashion-style clusters for the purpose of segmenting the apparel market by using a computer simulation method. A questionnaire survey has been made concerning the sense of apparel fashion of students of T women's university and T women's junior college in the middle of september, 1988. The results of this questionnaire survey were analyzed with the simulation software that was developed by authors.
The results obtained were as follows:
1) The simulation software for analyze the fathion-style clusters were developed by authors.
2) With the simulation software, the fashion-style clusters were analyzed according to clusters to which each student belonged. At the 65.0% threshold, a great deal of students fell into the common stable group. Secondly, many students also fell into the steady conservative, campus-enjoyable, real thing-liking and urban-refined groups respectively.
On the other hand, few students belonged to the fashion-trendy, indifference and romantic-pretty groups.
3) In the future, we would like to inquire into the algorithm between certain items with the simulation software in order to get a higher precision of intelligence.
