A similarity rule of the draped figures for fabrics was investigated by using a model on the F.R.L. drape test. We assumed that the relation between own-weight and the resistant forces could be expressed by the following formula
P
w=P
1+P
2+P
3where, P
w: own-weight of the fabric
P
1: resistant force against the bending
P
2: resistant force against the compression
P
3: 3-dimensional resistant force produced along the disc end.
Then, we examined the similarity rules by using a model about the relation between own-weight and the P
1, and the P
2, individually.
From the results, we confirmed that the following same similarity rule was found on the P
1and the P
2, indivirinally
R'/R=
3√EI'/w'/
3√EI/w
where, R : hanging length from the disc
EI : bending rigidity
w : weight per unit area
