This paper aims to clarify the difference in the compressive property of legs and the clothing pressure and subjective estimation of wear feeling of pantyhose according to age. For this purpose, thirty-four women of wide range of ages, who are classified women in her teens (J group), twenties (U group), and forties (A group), were employed as subjects for this study. The results were obtained as follows :
1) Compressive deformation and energy increased with increasing of age of subjects, but compressive recovery decreased.
2) Clothing pressure obtained from the A group was less about twenty percent than that of J and U groups.Influence of leg circumference on the clothing pressure tended to become lower with increasing of age.
3) In the case of thigh, the pressure values calculated from Kirk's formula closely agreed with the measured values, but in lower legs, the error in calculation was larger.
4) Factors of the difference between the calculated and the measured values were analyzed using a multi-regression analysis method, with results that some terms of the compressive softness of legs and age were pointed out as the important factors.
5) Correlation between compressive feeling and comfort feeling was negative in J and U groups, but positive in A group. However, in the case of wearing of very-high-pressure pantyhose, the correlation was negative in every groups.
