The purpose of this study is to shed light on the problem of lack of freedom of movement of the nursing uniform. A survey was conducted in Tokyo and Yamanashi Prefecture. The results of this survey with 554 respondents showed that when choosing a uniform, nurses chose in order of importance: the mobility, material and design. The results showed that 45% of the respondents felt that the current uniform was lacking in mobility. On the other hand, nurses tend to prefer to the pants suits and the zippers. They also found preference first for the color of white and secondly pink. Because of the important role of taking care of individual patients, more consideration should be given to a uniform with more freedom of movement. Uniform cleaning was mostly performed by contractors designated by hospitals. Factor analysis was conducted about the standard which chooses a nurse's uniform. As a result, the nurse attached importance to launderability, material, added function, design and mobility.
