The purpose of this study is to investigate how the striped patterns effect on the apparent configuration of curtains. The results are summarized as follows:
1) A significant difference was visually found in the curtain configuration with a different types of striped patterns.
2) Vertical stripes had an effect to make a curtain look more amount of pleats.
3) Horizontal stripes had an effect to make a curtain look more regular configuration.
4) Vertical stripes on curtains gave a vertical impression, and horizontal stripes a horizontal impression.
5) Striped patterns are more influential on the image of a curtain configuration than a making-up condition.
6) The image of a curtain configuration is represented by three factors, such as“aesthetic”, “formal”and“voluminous”.
