When a towel is hanged on a fixed cylinder, an unbalanced position is held by the mechanicsof a friction. The authors investigate the mechanical model, namely a towel hanging model, inwhich a friction plays an essential role. The model is a generalized model of the Euler's beltmodel with respect to the existence of a weight. The generalized diiferential equation wassoIvable, and the result was used to calculate resultant forces such as a total normal force, a totalfrictional force, a resultant force of a front part and a resultant force of a backpart. The resultswere shown in comparison with those of the Euler's theory.
