The present paper deals with histological study on the influence of the repeated transfusion of a large quantity of erythrocytes suspension, blood plasma or physiological saline solution upon the experimental anemia of rabbits. Results obtained are as follows:
    1) Physiological saline solution seemed to give no impairing effect upon the parenchymatous cells of the 'experimental animals, especially, when the anemia was in its highest degree. Transfusion of erythrocytes suspension produced slight impairment and that of plasma did a little stronger. However, no serious histological finding was seen in any rabbits, that were transfused with any of the above mentioned fluids at the recovering stage of the experimental bleeding anemia, as compared with that in the rabbits without transfusion (the control).
    2) The spleens of the rabbits transfused with erythrocytes suspension and blood plasma showed enlargement, while that of those with physiological saline solution and that of the
    control did not.
    3) Frequent transfusion of large quantity of erythrocytes suspension, even after the recovery from the anemia, resulted in the decrease of bone marrow cells, especially, cells of erythrocyte series, degeneration of parenchymatous cells and hemosiderosis.
    4) Erythrocytes suspension may be an excellent blood substitute, because of its nature to be infused in large quantity.

The present paper is to report 6 cases of ostitis fibrosa localisata that were hospitalized in the National Chiba Hospital since 1949. Ages of these cases were from 9 to 24. Four cases were male and 2 were female.
Generally, ostitis fibrosa localisata develops at long tubular bones. In 2 cases the location was at femur, in another 2 cases at tibia, in another 1 case at humerus and in the remaining 1 case at calcaneus bone.
Spontaneous fractures were found in 4 cases, and by this the diagnosis was quite easy. Before the fractures these patients had no subjective complaints.
Two cases had previously direct trauma at the affected locations of bones. Etiology of ostitis fibrosa localisata is not yet known. There is, however, a suggestion that the disease may develop subsequent to chronic trauma, for instance, during the development of skeletal system some loadings or irritations may give stress to the certain bones and produce the disease. Labolatoric examinations, especially, serum Ca content tests were normal in these cases. Thus, this is not a general disease and the etiological difference between ostitis fibrosa generalisata will be obvious.
Therapeutically, curettage of the affected bones and transplantations of bone grafts were conducted. We feel that these measures are the best managements for the disease. Without the transplantation, there will be recurrences. As for the bone grafts, auto-bone-grafts are the best. There is also a consideration for the method of making grafts by homogeneous bone. Radiological radiation was not always effective. Incidentally, some author reported the development of malignant new growth subsequent to the radiation.

The authors experienced 764 cases of toxemia of late pregnancy at the 2nd Tokyo National Hospital during the period of six years (1951-1956). The cases were classified into pregnancy hypertension, pregnancy albuminuria, pregnancy edema, pregnancy kidney, preeclampsia and eclampsia, according to their etiological natures.
    1. The occurrence of toxemia of late pregnancy was 19.3%. Numbers of delivery increased every year, while the occurrence of toxemia of late pregnancy decreased slightly.
    2. Rate of premature-births and rate of neonatal mortality in cases of toxemia of late pregnancy were equal to that of normal pregnancy, however, rate of death-births in the former was 4.7%, which is more than three times as much as that of the latter.
    3. The rate of recurrence of toxemia in the late pregnancy was 18.6%.
    4. Ophthalmoscopical examination revealed that 63.20 of the toxemia cases of late pregnancy had some findings at their ocular fundi.

The present paper deals with patho-bacteriological examination of tuberculous cavities resected from cases treated with chemotherapies. Subjects were 56 cases, whose cavities were manifested in x-ray pictures, even after chemotherapies of SM, PAS, INH, for 3 months to more than 1 year.
    1. Thirty three cases (58.8%) had remaining cavities, of which two were purified cavities. Sixteen cases (28.6%) had inspissated cavities, 5 cases (8.2%) had closed cavities, 2 cases (3.7%) had cicatricial healing, and the other 9 cases (16.0%) had anatomical healing.
    2. In fresh cavities, x-ray pictures showed remarkable improvement and anatomical healing might be expected by chemotherapy, however, most of indurated cavities were still left as remaining cavities.
    3. Out of 33 cases examined for tubercle bacilli in the focus of their remaining cavities, 31 cases (93.7%) showed positive result by smear test, 26 cases (78.7%) positive by culture. Meanwhile, out of 23 cases, whose cavities disappeared by x-ray examination, 18 cases (78.3%) were bacilli positive by smear, and 8 cases (34.7%) by culture.
    4. Among 27 cases that were bacilli negative in sputa, 7 cases (25.9%) were bacilli negative in the foci both by smear and culture and 22 cases (81.4%) were positive by smear and negative by culture.
    5. Not only morphological changes but also decreases of acidfastness and boiling-fastness were found in the tubercle bacilli that were found in positive smear and negative culture.
    6. Surgical therapy seems to be necessary in case of bacilli positive in sputa after chemotherapy.

The authors examined the mobility of the neutrophile leucocytes in the 16 cases, that were suffered from radiation sickness caused by the Bikini ashes and were admitted to the 1st Tokyo National Hospital. The examinations were conducted 4 times, i. e., 2nd, 10th, 15th and 20th months after the accident.
The mobility of the neutrophile leucocytes decreased remarkably at the early examinations, however, it gradually recovered its normal velocity, in accordance with the recovery of W. B. C.
A few discussions about the clinical use of the measurement of the mobility or about the method itself are bone. The method used in the present study was method of Sugiyama.
