Gastric emptying of the resected stomachs (in 23 cases of B-I method of operation and 84 cases of B-II method of operation) were roentgenologically observed for 2 to 3 weeks or more after the operations.
In some cases, in spite of no organic stenosis at the anastomosing part, great amount of gastric juice retained at fasting condition, furthermore, passing of the opaque meals immediately through the anastomosing opening was observed. This type of outflow shall be named as type of . the partitioning funnel. Incidentally, these phenomena disappeared by 4 or 5 weeks after the operations. Cases in which a great amount of gastric juice retained at fasting condition did not feel hungry and had distention of epigastrium. These cases had trouble of postoperative nutritions.
Causes of these phenomena were analysed as follows; 1) Edema of mucosa and delayed healing of operative anastomosing wound. 2) Delatation and dislocation to the back of the remaining portion of the operated stomach. 3) Motoric asynchrony between the remaining stomach and the anastomosed jejunum. 4) Motoric vulving activity of the mucosa of the jejunum at the anastomosing location.
These factors were demonstrated and discussed either by x-ray observations (1, 2 and 3) or experimental studies (4).

The present paper deals with the experimental study on the sex difference in the secretion of sweat.
    1) Sex difference in the response of the sweat glands to the intracutaneous injection of acetylcholine: Male sweat glands were fourd to be more sensible than that of females in the response to acetylcholine.
    2) Sex difference in the initial period of the perspication and in the amounts of sweat: a) According to the measurements of the local sweating by means of Kuno's method, there was no difference in the initial sweating by sex. However, total amounts of the local sweat in male sex were greater than that of female sex. b) According to the measurements of the electrical resistance of skin, there was no sex difference in the initial sweating.
    3) Sex difference in the total amounts of sweat from the whole body during 1 hour's walk at summertime: That of male sex was greater than that of female sex.
These results may indicate that there is no sex difference in the function of sweating center, however, sweat glands of male sex are more active than that of female sex.

The present paper deals with the characteristics of cold-agglutinin, found in a particular case of blood-group B. The case was noted at the time of cross-match test, when its serum showed pan-agglutination to all groups of tested red cells, including group B.
At room temperature, its serum agglutinated all types of human red cells tested. At 20°C, the serum agglutinated its own red cells and the reaction disappeared at 37°C. The reaction however, re-appeared when these sets of test-tubes were cooled down to 20°C. Thus the reversibllity of the reaction was apparent.
The colder the temperature, the higher the agglutinin titer. With group B and O cells, titers of 64 were obtained at 0°C and at 5°C, titers of 16, 8, 4 and 2 were obtained at 10°C, 15°C, 20°C and 25°C, respectively. At 37°C, no reaction occurred.
Once the agglutinins were consumed in the cold agglutination, the supernatant showed normal reactibility in cross-match tests. The absorbed agglutinins were eluted again from red cells with saline solution at high temperature.
The agglutinin titer was fairly stable. It did not decrease even after 30 days in an icebox. The agglutinin was resistant to the heating at 60°C for 30 days, but not at 65°C.
Normal specimens of group B tested for the control showed titers of cold-agglutinin raging from 1 to 16, and their average was 5. None of the control reacted at 20°C. The authors discussed the possibility of finding out such particular specimens, at the time of cross-match tests.

Courses and prognosis of the 212 capsulated caseous cavities of tuberculous lesions were observed radiographically.
Rates of the breakdown of the lesions by sex indicated that the male cases had higher rate than the female cases.
By age, the younger ages group showed higher rate than the other ages groups. It seemed that there are some relations between the rate and the patients' rest conditions.
Cavities having sharp tails by x-ray pictures showed high rate of breakdown, especially, in cases of chemotherapy.
Lesions in the left upper lung showed higher rate of breakdown than that of the right upper lung. As for middle part of lung, there was no difference by right and left sides.
In cases of chemotherapy, INH and PAS cases showed higher rate of breakdown of the capsulated caseous lesions than SM and PAS group.
The breakdown of lesions of INH and PAS group started from the central part of the lesions, meanwhile, that of SM and PAS group and non-chemotherapy group started from the peripheral parts of their lesions, generally.
Lesions that showed breakdown picture became almost always to take the course of open cavity.

The present paper is to report a case of traumatic diaphragmatic hernia.
The case had been suffered from tension pneumothorax of the left-side subsequent to trauma. The case developed traumatic diaphragmatic hernia and was fatal after the laparotomy and thoracotomy.
The mortality rate of traumatic diaphragmatic hernia reported in Japan recently is low, owing to the progress in the techniques of anesthesia and operation. However, physicians must take great caution at the diagnosis and treatment of this trouble.
