The present paper deals with the experience of 22 cases of rheumatoid arthritis that were treated with butazolidin (phenylbutazone) for over 2 weeks to 2 months, combined with hot-spring bath and physical treatment at the same time. The effects of the treatment was recorded by the Steinbrocker's method of classification of the disease, The maintenance dose was 200 or 300mg. per day, orally. In 13 cases, 2 partial cessation of the process of the disease was observed. In 2 cases, complete disappearance of symptoms was obtained, even after the discontinuance of the treatment. Three cases did not respond to the treatment. In 4 cases, side effects of the drug neccessitated the discontinuance of its administration, while in all. other cases, side effects were transient and not evident.
It seems that butazolidin is a specifically antirheumatic drug and is not dangerous if given correctly in small dose, in suitable combination with balneo-and physical therapy.

The authors, measuring the height, weight and the girth in 330 operative cases of chronic paranasal sinusitis in Nagoya National Hospital during the past four years, studied the constitution of the cases on the basis of Hirata's method of classification of physical constitution. Results were as follows:
Although, the physical development of the cases examined was not remarkably different from the standard constitution, i. e., about 50% of them was medium constitution, patients with chronic paranasal sinusitis tend to be slightly lean constitution and tend to belong to the type with narrow chest, as compared with the standard constitution.
The constitution of the cases could not be classified according to the nature of secretion in sinus, or the status presence of the mucosa or the degree of the illness.

The fluctuation of eosinophile counts in the circulating blood subsequent to the injection of ACTH, Adrenalin or typhoid vaccine was studied with the following results:
1) In men: Eosinophile counts in circulating blood showed the diphasal change, i. e., increase and decrease, subsequent to the infection of ACTH or Adrenaline. However, no difference was observed in the type of nucleus and the granulocyte counts of Feulgen-reaction examined before and after the injection. Beside, no chagne was observed in the eosinophile counts of bone marrow puncture. These findings suggest the degeneration and generation of eosinophile leucocytes.
2) In rabbits: Upon the injection of ACTH, remarkable increase of eosinophile counts was observed in the circulating blood that had passed through the lung, while few change was observed in the blood that had passed through the spleen. Moreover, no change was observed in the blood that had passed through the lung or spleen by the occlusion of R. E. S. System or by the injection of chlorpromazine.
The results will mean that the increase or decrease of eosinophile counts in the circulation blood is not due, to the generation, but it is due to the change or the dischange process activated by the organs, provided that the control of the nervous system as well as the endocrine system are considered at the same time.

The present paper deals with the autoscopic change findings of trachea and bronchi following to tracheotomy, in 14 cases of lepromatous leprosy patients.
1) The pathological findings of trachea were influenced by the tracheotomy in all cases.
2) After treatment of leprosy with Promin and other Sulfon drugs, ulcer of trachea was healed, but scar and symptoms of chronic bronchitis were not quite improved.
3) The stenosis of left bronchi was observed in 2 cases due to mis-treatments.
4) By the treatment of less than two years with Promin, 5 patients became to be able to remove the tubes.
As for the sensitivity of tracheal mucous membrane, the author studied this problem by causing cough-reflex by means of application of mechanical stimuli upon various parts of tracheal mucous membrane. Results were as follows:
1) Degrees of cough-reflex run parallel to the condition of illness and leprous changes of trachea.
2) The reflex became proportionately stronger as the stimulus reached the deeper parts of trachea.
3) The prognosis did not relate with the fall of the cough-reflex.
4) Recovery of the reflex was not obtained by the administration of Promin.

Though ECG investigation has been one of preoperative function tests in pulmonary tuberculosis, the standard of the ECG to perform thoracotomy with security has been unknown. After three months, postoperative observations on fifty patients with abnormal ECG (thirty eight myocardial damages, seven ventricular hypertrophies, three arrhythmial, four bandle blanch blocks) revealed that the numbers of myocardial damages decreased, hypertrophies increased, while in another abnormal ECG no circulatory disturbances were clinically found during and after operation. Comparing with twenty control patients with normal ECG, two patients showed myocardial damage, and one of them was complicated with pericarditis.
From these results in thoracotomy in pulmonary tuberculosis, it may be suggested that the patients with normal ECG should be treated with much more cautions than those With abnormal ECG.
