Complement fixation and sedimentation tests were carried out with sera and extracts of several organs of guinea pigs infected with entamoeba histolytica. Inoculation was performed by the injection of organisms directly into caecum. Out of 50 animals inoculated, 16 were found infected and 14 of them had amebic ulcers in intestines and the remaining 2 had no ulcer but had abundant amoebae in their caecal contents. All of the sera obtained from these 16 animals showed positive complement fixation. Out of 34 guinea pigs which were not successfully infected, 2 showed positive complement fixation. One of these 2 cases had a small ulcer in caecum, but it was not clear whether it was amebic or not.
Extracts of liver, lung, spleen and caecal wall of the test animals were also examined. Those extracts of infected animals showed also positive reaction. The extracts of caecal wall and spleen were likely to show more intense positive reaction than those of liver and lung. Organ-extracts of the guinea pigs, in which the infection was unsuccessful, showed positive reaction mostly at the highest concentration of the extracts, and in exceptional cases, positive reaction was seen at lower concentration.
Sedimentation tests was less reliable than the complement fixation tests. Sera or organextracts of infected animals showed positive reaction, and those of uninfected animals also showed positive reaction very often.
Serum obtained from the C. F. T. positive animals was added to the culture media of entamoeba histolytica with no effect upon the growth of the organisms.
Guinea pigs were repeatedly injected intraperitoneally with entamoeba histolytica and their sera became positive to the C. F. T. These animals were inoculated intracaecally with entamoeba histolytica. Incidences of infection and intestinal ulcer in these cases had no remarkable difference as compared with those in the control animals without previous injection of the organisms.

One Hundred cases of prae-eclampsia or eclampsia were followed up more than a half year after their onsets, and findings in ocular fundi together with symptoms of asthenopia, hypertension and aibuminuria were examined as the uncured symptoms of toxemia of pregnancy.
    1) Retinal changes were found in about 40% of preeclampsia and eclampsia cases, while it was 10% in the control cases.
    2) Incidences of sight disturbances were similar to that of retinal changes.
    3) Hypertension were observed in 18% of preeclampsia cases and 13% of eclampsia cases, while in the controls, 6%.
    4) Incidences of albuminuria were 27% in the preeclampsia cases and 25% in eclampsia cases, while in the controls, 8%.
    5) Edema was not found as the uncured symptoms of toxemia of pregnancy.

As it is difficult to conduct liver biopsies many times upon human patients, the author carried out follow-up examinations on the materials obtained through liver biopsy from guinea pigs poisoned with yellow phosphor. Tuberculous nodi, fatty degenerations and tuberculous bacilli in the tissues were investigated, especially. Tuberculous lesions were more remarkable in the poisoned liver than that not poisoned. Follow-up studies were conducted upon these lesions of poisoned livers and the findings were reduced ones in some of them and advanced ones in the others.
These lesions were furthermore examined in the state of abnormal function or hypofunction of adrenal gland due to adrenectomy. Out of 30 guinea pigs which received bilateral adrenectomy, 8 survived for 2 weeks (26.7%). Tuberculous nodi were observed in the survived cases. In control animals, silverphile fibers were not found in the nodi but in the outside of them, while in the operated animals, necrosis of liver tissues was evident.
Resuming these results, influence of the hormons upon the livers of experimental tuberculosis was revealed. The decrease of adrenal functions gave only slight vital reaction to the liver tuberculosis.

    Hot spring bathing by TB patients at Kamiyamada-Togura and their influences upon. B. M. R., adreno-cortical function, etc, were studied. Results were as follows;
Basal metabolic rate showed temporal decrease after bathing, generally. As for adrenal cortical function, Thorn's test and measurement of 17-ketosteroid concentration in urine were carried out. Thorn test revealed no significant diffeence, while 17-ketosteroid increased gradually and by 4th week it reached at the highest concentration, and then decreased again gradually.
Concentration of reducing vitamin C in urine reached maximum by 30 minutes after bathing, showed a tendency of gradual descent and recovered previous value by 2 hours.

It a problemwhat degree of bed-rest should be ordered to TB patients under chemotherapy. The author studied on this problem and got some results to be reported.
Respiration movement, gaseous metabolism, pulse blood pressure and the location of diaphragms were examined at various postures. In the comparison of the following postures, lying on the back, sitting and standing, no great difference was found in respiration movement and gaseous metabolism. Meanwhile, number of pulse was the largest at standing, which was followed by sitting. Blood pressure was slightly low at standing. The location of diaphragm was the highest at lying and low at standing. The tension of lung shall be lessened by keeping diaphragma high at lying, The influence of changing calmly body posture, walking of short distance and talking calmly upon the pulmonary lesions were very little. Degree of fatigue was low in 1st degree of rest or 2nd degree, and high in 3rd and 4th degrees of rest, especially in 4th degreef rest.
Bed rest under chemotherapy shall be 1st degree of rest if the case is serious, if not, half a year of one year of lying with permitting of going to closet or toilet shall be ordered.

In order to see the blood regeneration under protein deficiency diet the author observed experimental animals (rats) suffering from anemia by hemolysis or dedlection, under protein deficiency diet condition.
    1) As for control, several different experiments weere conducted; a) Cases of single subcutaneous injection of 1% solution of hydrochloric phanyl-hydrazin, 5-10cc per kg, under complete diet. b) Cases of subcutaneous injection of the same solution, 1cc per kg, once per day, c) Cases of deplection of 5-10cc per kg, 1-3 times. In all, 17 cases of control. In every case, hyperchromic macrocytic anemia dcaloped.
    2) Out of 15 rats under protein deficiency diet which received the same procepures as in (1), anemia changed into hyperchromia, in 9 cases, and in the remaining 6 cases, anemia was normal chromic.
    3) In (1) and (2), anemia changed into hyperchromic macrocyte, because of plenty of hyperchromic reticulocytes. Appearance of hemalocytes was recognized at lower rate in the cases of norural chromic.
    4) In the cases under complete diet, increase of leucocytes was seen except in the cases of deplection, on the contrary, in the cases under deficiency diet, it was not very often.
Judging from the above results, blood regeneration may be generally prevented markedly under protein deficiency. However, even under such a condition, reaction of hyperchromic macrocyte is maintained as the fundamental reaction against the occurrence of anemia, because body protein is utilized priorily in making blood.
