The pbysical properties and microstructure of the magnesia clinker, which was obtained from the light burned magnesia or chemical pure magnesia mixed with 1-10% synthetic MgO⋅Fe
2O
3 or CaO⋅Fe
2O
3, and fired 1300-1600°C for 3 hours, was studied and then we has compared the case of synthetic MgO⋅Fe
2O
3 with the case of Fe
2O
3 mixed in magnesia.
Still more, we has confirmed of the compounds and forms of Fe
2O
3 in magnesia clinker by chemical analysis, magnetic properties and x-Ray analysis.
We found that, there is no great difference between the case of synthetic MgO⋅Fe
2O
3 and the case of Fe
2O
3 in the point of the microstructure, but the synthetic MgO⋅Fe
2O
3 have rather weak mineralizing action than Fe
2O
3 at high temperature. The case of synthetic CaO⋅Fe
2O
3 shows complicated mineralizing action and generally worse developement of periclase crystal than the cage of Fe
2O
3, and then produced periclase grain shows a characteristic structure like a hive as well as the case of CaO was mixed in magnesia.
