In this paper, which is concerned mainly with skidding on snowy or icy roads, the authors observed the values of cornering force, rolling resistance and self-aligning torque act upon skidding tyres, with the intention of making the steering performance clear on bad condition roads such as covered with snow or ice, and on road surfaces with loose sand, loose gravel, packed soil to compare with. Secondary, according to these results, the relation between radius of turn and speed, the tendency of understeering or oversteering, and so forth about a bus example are discussed theoretically.
