Chlorosulphonated polyethylene (CSM) is a special synthetic rubber made from chlorination and chlorosulphonation of polyethylene. There are several types of CSM product which have different these factors. For example, higher chlorine CSM shows better oil resistance. In addition, the features of CSM are also influenced by formulation. However, the formulations of CSM are different from those of other rubbers (eg. NR, SBR, NBR...etc) . For example, it is not good for CSM even though zinc oxide (ZnO) or stearic acid is used for various other rubbers. In this report, we introduce the features and basic formulations of CSM.
Acrylic rubber (ACM), obtained by copolymerization of acrylic monomers, is known as a special rubber with excellent heat and oil resistance. Acrylic rubber is widely used in the automotive industry as sealing materials, hose materials, etc.
This paper reports on the differences in physical properties depending on the monomer structure and cross-linking points of acrylic rubbers, and then on the concept and points to be considered when formulating compounding using acrylic rubber.
Epichlorohydrin rubber is used for automotive and industrial rubber because it has well-balanced properties such as good heat, fuel, cold and ozone resistance. In addition, this rubber is also used for printers or copiers because of its unique semi-conductivity. Thus, the properties required for this rubber are diverse, depending on the applications. Therefore, the compounding design plays an important role in this rubber. In this report, it has been written about how to design a compound to bring out the required performance in the rubber parts.
Chloroprene rubber has a history of more than 90 years since its industrialization started in 1931. It is a general-purpose synthetic rubber with excellent properties, such as good mechanical strength, good heat resistance, high weather/ozone resistance, good fluid resistance, and low flammability. Chloroprene rubber is widely used. This article shows the history, manufacturers, main lines of chloroprene rubber, and the formulation and function of each chemical additive for chloroprene compounds.
