This paper describes experimental EDTV system with high quality wide aspect image and digital audio. This system sends wide aspect images by leter box method , a vertical-temporal augmentation signal in the top and botom panels, a higher resolution component embeded on "Hole", and digital audio signals by RF-QAM ( Radio Frequency Quadrature Amplitude Modulation). Experimental results show that crosstalk between video and audio signals is negligibly small and disturbances on existing sets are tolerable.
