"Nerve impulse conduction" is a basic practice for students to understand physiological mechanism of nerve action potential. The mechanism of impulse conduction has been detailed year after year as electronical instruments and physiological researches have been developed. And, practice for medical students has been complex. Authors have improved methods of physiological practice by an electronical model of nerve impulse conduction and video tapes. Four practical sets, which are composed of a stimulator, an amplifier with a 50 Hz ejector, a monitor scope with 14 inch Braun tube and the model were produced. Three kinds of physiological phenomena (conduction velocity of impulse, refractory period of impulse and compound action potential) are observed in the model. Students could have a training of practice using the model in advance, and they could have better understanding of physiological theory of impulse conduction in a proceeding practice of a frog nerve. Furthermore, the instrument and the model will be simplified for high school students to learn biology.
