Nonlinear editing technology is the future of moving-image post-production. NBK have introduced "Nonlinear offline editing System" since March 1991. A lot of programs are produced such as Historical Drama"HANA-NO-RAN" ,Soap Drama"Piano" and so on. Off-line disk-based editing is useful system which is able to obtain easy-to-operate and reducing working time. This paper describes the features and the problems of the nonlinear editing system.
In this paper we discuss about inteiligent video handling. Then we show examples of intelligent video analysis functions for the automatic description of the temporal-spatial video structure and the visualization methods, that user easily understand and operate. The functions offer such descriptions as cut separations, motion of the camera and objects, tracks and contour lines of Objects, exstence of the object and period of existance. A human interface using these new visualization methods allow users to directly manipulate the structure itself, descriptions and raw video data without paying too much attention to the levels within the hierarchy of video information.
This paper proposes a new, efficient and a practical way to extract lens zoom camera pan and camera tilt information using modified motion analysis. The proposed method is called the Video Tomography Method(VTM), in which tomography techniques are introduced into a motion estimation algorithm. With the VTM, one is able to visualize motion as a spatiotemporal flow for motion analysis. The VTM is an extremely robust [resistant to noise] method for estimating camera operation due to its tomographic nature. Other possible applications that use extracted motion data for handling video are discussed. This method is targeted towards video handling applications that attribute extracted motion data into a video index. Scene reconstruction techniques can be extended to apply to the problem of resolution enhancement.
