This paper reports on the three session (WAM1 WAM4 WPM5) in ICCE 1991 in the session of WAM1. TV signal processing ICs were discussed. In the session of WAM4, memories, D/A converter IC, MUSE down converter, ICs for Dolby system and power supply components were discussed, In the session of WPM5, various kinds of signal processing techniques were discussed such as PIP, noise reduction, filter design, simulator, scrambler and GCR signal.
12 papers were presented in VIDEO RECORDING TECHNOLOGY and DIGITAL VIDEO RECORDING sessions. These can be divided into 4 categories which are (1) Standard analog VTR, (2) VTR mechanical technology, (3) High Definition analog VTR, (4) Digital Recording VTR. Concerning digital recording VTR, it is remarkable that several approaches are newly introduced.
In the session of Electronic Imaging Systems, there are eight presentations about a color linear image sensor, image sensors and a driving method for an HDTV camera system, digital video cameras, encorder IC for S-VHS and Hi8 format camcorders and DIS (Digital Image Stabilization): In session of CRT Deflection & Convergence, there are five presentations about a bus controlled clock-generator, horizontal and vertical deflection processors and digital convergence.
This paper reports about presentations in the session of Multimedia and Home Information System from June 6th through 7th in ICCE. Chicago. The multimedia session has 7 papers. which include multimedia systems and emerging technologies. The session of Home Information Systems contains a varied and interesting set of topics on advanced data services and home receivers.
The first paper of this session (transmission path issues) will report a newly proposed GCR (Ghost Cancel Reference) signal and its test results. Following are four paperson ghost canceller implementations. ranging from algorithms to VLSIs, based upon the GCR system of BTA. Impulsive RFinterference can result in pictures with bursty distortions. One of the papers will discuss bursty error correction using error cnotrol codes, The forms of digital modulation, and methods to overcome cochannel interference form NTSC broadcast, are certainly the areas of focus for the simulcast all-digital ATV systems. The last paper of the session addresses this problm.
The "Non-tracking" signal processing for R-DAT is a new play-back method without using the ATF tracking control. We have developed the "Non-tracking" signal processing method to realize a simple R-DAT system for portable usage and integrated most signal processing circuits to two LSIs. This paper presents the technique of "Non-tracking" signal processing and technical specification of LSIs to realize the "Non-tracking" R-DAT system.

In personal fixed communication session, 2 papers for ISDN communication Equipment, 2 Papers for communication LSI and 1 paper for touch tone tele-control system are presented. In personal mobile communication session, 5 papers for mobile telephones and 1 paper for car audio system. These fields are attractive, because big market can be expected in the future.
