ac形プラズマディスプレイの保護層材料として、二次電子放出比が高く耐スパッタ性に優れている、などの理由からMgOが用いられている。保護層表面の汚染はPDPの放電電圧に影響を与えるため、汚染物の除去は重要な課題である。一般に放電ガスを封入する前に300〜350℃の真空べ一キングにより保護層表面の汚染物を除失し、MgOの活性化を行っている。今回、この活性化の効果を調べるため、パネルを試作し、ALA特性の測定を行い、その効果を確認した。また、熱処理用のチャンバーを設けたE S C Aを使って、活性化前後のMgO表面を観察した。その結果、活性化による吸着酸素の減少が認められた。
A prototype of self emission type full color TV was developed aiming at 100" size indoor display. The prototype consists of red and green LEDs and blue lightsource of high brightness fluorescent lamp which is controlled by ferro-electric liquid crystal shutter and distributed to the display surface by optical fibers. The paper describes the concept and results of the development.
A holographic stereogram synthesis system was experimentally produced. This system uses a transmission type liquid crystal display as a light modulator. The holographic stereogram synthesized with this system is a laser light reconstruction type. A sheet of exposed hologram film contains 180 kinds of pictures generated by the ray tracing technique. The sizes of used films are about 70mm×300 mm. It is possible to make one holographic stereogram within 50 minutes. This time does not include picture generation time by the ray tracing technique. A reconstructed picture can be observed clearly in a bright room. when a 5mW He-Ne laser is used.
The possibility is investigated of an avalanche amplifying solid-state imager. A special designed 5-pixels Si avalanche photo-diode(APD) array operated under a charge storage mode is built. In below-breakdown operation,photo-electric conversion characteristic is devided into two regions. The slope of the curves γ in these regions is corresponding to γ=1 and 0.5,respectively. Increasing reverse bias applied to the APD, the nonlinear conversion region equivalent to γ=0.5 become dominant and be practically independent on an inherent gain of the APD. These properties are due to self-quenching of the gain. It is found that the variation of the responsivity of the array caused from the inherent gain nonuniformity is drastically decreased and approaches to the level roughly equal to a half of the pixel capasitance uniformity. The reduction of the variation is more successful for the array having smaller pixel capasitance. The fact is important for applying the APD to an imaging sensor. It is concluded that the array could be applicable over a wide field from extremly low-light level imaging to normal video camera use.
A computed tomographic technique has been developed to diagnose laser-irradiated shperical targets using x-ray emission. The three-dimensional x-ray distribution was reconstructed by using an algebraic reconstruction technique (ART) from x-ray pinhole camera images obtained along different sight directions. 3-D distributions of electron temperature and relative density were measured by use of an absorption filter technique with x-ray fluorescent screens.
In the face image processing,it is important to extract the outlines of the element in the face such as eyes,mouth and so on. Our faces are uneven, so there are the edge components of these elements and background noises in the face images. Moreover, these elements have their own responses to the filter. These are the reasons why the face image processing is so diffult. Taking these points into considerations,we proposed the outline extraction using milti-resolut ion image processing wholly and locally. But the outlines obtained in this method have broken parts, projections and the segments combined with neighboring components. In this paper,we tried to process the outlines by substituting these extracted characteristics points for the nodes of SNAKES.
