This paper provides the outlines of the session - "Transmission & Reception of ATV & NTSC" and the session - "ATV Sestems" of ICCE held on June, 92 in Chicago, U.S.A. At the former, descriptions about ATV simulcast systems and signal processing techniques were presented. At the latter, description about ATV proposals and HDTV progress reports from Japan were presented.
9 papers were presented in "ATV : Video Coding" section. There were 5 papers from Korea, 2 papers from USA, I paper from Japan and I paper from Finland. These papers can be divided to 6 categories, which are vector quantization. DPCM, filtering, two layered coding, motion vector estimation and LOT with Peano scan.
This paper reports on two sessions (THAM17 & THPM21) in ICCE 1992 Both focus on ICs or IC circuits & algorithms for ATV. The first session consists or 8 papers; 3 on DCT for HDTV ICs; 3 on HDTV filters and 2 on ICs for ATV. The second session consists of 2 papers concerning 2'nd generation MUSE ICs; 2 on HD-MAC ICs; 1 on HDTV motion estimation processor and 1 on real time FFT LSI for HDTV.
14 papers were presented in "Video Recording Technology" section and "Video Recording Systems" section. There were 10 papers from Japan, 3 papers from Korea, 1 paper from France. These papers can be divided to 5 categories, which are analog VTR, digital VTR, analysis of head and tape, high density recording and error correcting code. Especially, there are 2 papers about trick plays of digital VTR.
This paper reports the presentations in the sessions of Imaging Technology and Image Processing in ICCE 1992. In Imaging Technology-session, there are 8 presentations about CCD image sensors, AE, AF, AWB and stabilization. In the Image Processing-session, there are 8 papers about the image and color processing ICs, digital still camera and image process-ing using Bi-level quantizing method and 3D-wire frame technology.
Multimedia Technology & Application session of ICCE '92 was held with around 40 attendants in the morning of June 4, 1992. This Session would discuss the multimedia products such as, optical disk system, ISDN terminal, etc., which can be used for education, entertainment, communication, etc., and its fundamental technologies. There were totally 7 papers including 5 optical disk system reports and 2 ISDN terminal reports. These papers came from Japan except one paper from United Kingdom.
This paper reports about presentations in the three session (WPM14, TLUPM6, WAM10) in ICCE 1992. In the session of WPM14, audio in broadcasting were discussed. In the session of TUPM6, audio peripherals, which covers a broad range of topics -from low power digital devices to a high power amplifier, were discussed. In the session of WAM10, digital audio signal processing, which cover digital filtering, coding, and applications to audio products, were discussed.
