A new cut detection method is proposed. In this method, the similarity-scores defined by the common colors in corresponding regions of video frames are used. The similarity-score becomes the maximum value when no color appears or disappears newly in the corresponding regions. The new method has the different features from the methods proposed in the past and shows good performance as well as these previous methods.
In a highly developed information society, the personal identification as a security measure is an essential technique. This paper describes the next-generation method of personal identification using ear shape as a human body characteristic. This method using local characters of ear images. The characterization of ear images using the maximum eigen value of the K-L expansion of morphological pattern spectra obtained from opening and closing operations. It has been found that this method is useful for roughly classifying ears in the initial stages of identification. Finally,we describe the future tasks of this study on personal identification using ear images.
The system described in this paper addresses the manufacture of Yuzen dyed kimonos, a Japanese art which dates from the 17th century. A portion of the traditional Yuzen manufacturing process has been analyzed, decomposed, and implemented on a modern computer graphic system. The current system utilizes CG technology to al low Yuzen kimonos to be produced by craftsmen without investing years of arduous training. At this point, while a number of problem areas remain to be worked out, the system has progressed to the point of practical utility, and we would like to present here some of the techniques used, and our experience in developing and using the system.

Also the requirement of easy computer operatlon are getting increase for computer beginners. So we propose the electorical catalog system which can use easely. This paper describes the electorical catalog system using realtime JPEG image compression and decompression unit on a local area network environment. This catalog system has a function of multi media presentation with the same period between audio data and video image data with network data transfer functions.
This paper presents one of the method of Real-time Computer Graphics for Character Animation. In this method, we use strain gages as the input device. By using this, we can get the relative moving data between two human surfaces with no pains. And the data is very useful for Character Animation. In many case of using this device, this pa-per describes the case of getting the operator's mouth shape and changing the character's one in real-time.
