The action potentials from the trunk of vagosympaticus of
Bufo vulgariswere recorded with cathode ray oscillograph. The stimulation of the vagal branch of this nerve caused to appear the action potentials of both B and C fibers, while the sympathetic branch stimulation, there appeared the action potential only from the C fiber.
The present authors measured diameters of the nerve fibers contained in the vagal andd sympathetic branch. But it did not succeed to find out any relation between the configuration of the action potential and the distribution of the sizes of fiber diameter. It might be due to the difficulty to measure the diameter of the unmyelinated fibers.
The configuration of the action potential due to B fiber were of single summit in many of the materials but in several cases wave dissociations appeared and the configulation of the action potential showed dual or more summits.
