For the purpose of searching the mechanism of the central nervous system on essential hypertension, that is, the effect of the central nervous system on change of blood pressuee, the electroencephalogram, blood pressure, GSR, eye movement, breathing, body temperature, pulse wave and electrocardiogram were examined simultaneously and continuously during natural sleep of 18 essential hypertensive patients and 9 people of normal blood pressure, 27 persons in all, and by making polygraph, each correlation was examined. The result indicated that in essential hypertensive patients, pulse, pulse wave, breath and body temperature changed as well as the change in blood pressure caused by a marked drop of blood pressure which run parallel with the depth of sleep of electroencephalogram. GRS, on the other hand, showed correlation opposite to any of those, and at the same time, when the sleep was deep, in both frequency and amplitude, it was predominant in the back of hands. Also in paradoxical sleep, in eye movements, there appeared rapid eye movement and in blood pressure at the same time, change of around 10 mmHg occurred minutely. In the same way, during this period, pulse and breath increased. GSR becomes of small frequency. Blood pressure of people of normal blood pressure decreases, but the degree of decrease was not clear. When they become modelately deep sleep, the degree of decrease of blood pressure becomes smaller and indicated marked difference from that of essential hypertnsive patients. Also in pulse, pulse wave, breath, body temperature, GSR and electrocardiogram, they showed the same change as those of what essential hypertensive patients showed, but the result indicated that all of these changes were not so remarkable as those of essential hypertensive patients.
In view of those facts, it was considered that in the central nervous system there is homeostasis related to blood pressure and this is involved in formation of blood pressure rhythm.

In order to know and understand the mode and mechanism of action of gold containing drugs pathological studies on resorption, removal and discharge of the drug from the kidney should prove to be value.
    Method of experiment:
Sorganal (Schering A. G. CO., Germany) containing organic gold was administered by intramuscular injection into rabbits which were divided into three groups.
    i) group A......... (12.0 ml, 80 mg in all)
ii) group B......... (23.1 ml, 154 mg in all)
iii) group C......... (7.1 ml, 539.1 mg in all)
The morphological changes observed in the kidney were as follows:
    1. Swelling of Malpighi tufts and exudate in Bowman's space were found in a slight grade in all cases of group A, but in groups B and C, these changes were of moderate grade with also edematous changes of intercapillary space.
    2. Slight deposition of gold granules in glomeruli were seen in most cases of group A, but in groups B and C, all cases demonstrated deposition being marked in some cases.
    3. Granular degeneration on proximal tubules were observed in all cases of each group being most conspicuous in group C.
Vacuolar degeneration occurred in some cases in group A slightly, but in groups B and C mostly, moderately.
    4. Vacuolar degeneration of distal tubules was found in all groups. This change was especially remarkable in groups B and C. Two cases in group B revealed atrophy of tubular epithelia and 4 cases in group C showed necrosis.
    5. All cases showed deposition of gold granules in epithelia of proximal tubules. This was especially remarkable in one case in group B, 3 cases in group C, and moderate in 4 cases in group C.
    6. Deposition of gold granules in epithelia of distal tubules was of a milder degree as compared to that in proximal tubules.
    7. Desquamation of necrotic epithelial cells containing gold granules was observed in the lumen of distal tubules in 2 cases.
    8. The main changes in the present experiment were found in tubular epithelia being composed of vacuolar degeneration, atrophy and necrosis.
This condition was interpreted to be compatible with nephropathy accompanied by a stimulatory invasion to blood vessels.

Studies were performed on the effect of fat metabolism on a relapse of Vitamin B2 deficiency disease, and effectiveness of various kinds of Vitamin B2 preparation against such relapsed conditions.
Results were obtained as follows :
    1) Symptoms of Vitamin B2 deficiency could be detected much earlier in the group of rat with relapsed Vitamin B2 deficiency disease as compared with those of incipient B2 deficiency disease.
Also gain in weight and recovery from symptom of B2 deficiency after administrating Vitamin B2 preparation were observed to be delayed in former group.
    2) Total amount of Vitamin B2 in whole blood showed 4.5γ/dl (ester type, 3.5γg/dl) on the average on the first day of study in the convalescent stage.
However, the average level of Vitamin B2 increased to 6.7γ/dl (ester type 5.7γ/dl) 25 days later, which revealed less lower than the average of 7.2γ/dl (ester type 6.4γ/dl) measured in the convalescent phase of the first experiment reported before. In case of dead specimen, total amount Vitamin B2 contained in whole blood showed average of 3.5γ/dl (ester type 2.5γ/dl) .
    3) After diet for relapse of Vitamin B2 deficiency food was given, the increasing rate of lipid in serum was much larger as compared with that of the first experiment which reported before.
Especially, the group of rats fed by food which contained high amount of fat showed extremely higher level in serum lipid than those of groups which fed by medium and low amount of fat contained.
Significant difference of variation in amount of lipid in sera among these three groups, however, was not observed.
    4) When Vitamin B2 preparation was given to the rats with relapsed Vitamin B2 deficiency disease, the delayed recovery from clinical aspects and improvement of fat metabolism were seen. Some of the rats died without showing any reactions even Free B2 daily or B2-Butylate every four days.
As the conclusion, daily dispense of B2-Butylate for B2 dificiency disease is believed to be an excellent prescription.
    5) When symptom of B2 deficiency disease relapses, it tends to get worse very quickly and a high degree of B2 deficiency can be observed.
Thus, if the B2 preparation is not given at a proper time, it will be longer be effective and complete recovery could not be expected when B2 preparation is dispensed after tissues have already changed.

Two cases of penetrated wound was reported.
First case, 37 years old man, was shoted with peg, intraperitoneal cavity and liver injury was existed.
In the another case, 22 years old man, the foreign body was existed in the right ventricular muscle, and it was taken off using heart-tung by pass.
    They were all survived.
