Stated in the following are the conclusions drawn from the in vitro and in vivo experi-ments as well as from the clinical findings:
    1. Combination of Kanamycin with a broad spectrum antibiotic or penicillin exerts a synergic antibacterial effect on staphylococcus, coli group bacilli, pneumococcus etc.
    2. Combination of Kanamycin with a broad spectrum antibiotic exerts an antibacterial effect on the broad spectrum antibiotic resistant staphylococcus and dysentery bacilli, and is evidently effective for the treatment of dysentery caused by the resistant strain.
    3. Combination of Kanamycin with a broad spectrum antibiotic is inhibitory against the acquisition of resistance to those drugs by staphylococcus, and coli group bacilli.
    4. Combination of Kanamycin with a broad spectrum antibiotic is effective in preventing the development of Microbisme séléction et substitute which is caused by the appearance of resistant staphylococcus while under the treatment with a broad spectrum antibiotic alone.
    5. Combination of Kanamycin with penicillin (Kanacillin) is effective in the treatment of various infectious diseases mixed with the infection of resistant staphylocussus which is frequently observed on children, and in near future, this combination may replace Mysillin which is presently in use for the same purpose.

    1. The patient is a boy of 13 years old suffering from nephrosis.
    2. The patient had received the treatment of a certain adrenocortico hormone over a period of 22 months under restricted salt intake. Suddenly he developed acute diarrhea and sensual disturbance and then hospitalized.
    3. After due clinical and laboratory tests, the diagnosis of hypokalemia was established. Administration of KCl removed the sensual disturbance and the clinical symptoms and the laboratory findings of hypokalemia disappeared thereafter. Nephrosis, moreover, was cured by the treatment continued with the steroid hormone.
    4. References were made on the literatures as to the causes which had evoked hypokal.emia of this patient.

Agranulocytosis and granulocytopenea were not rare when sulfa drugs were first introduced. They showed a remarkable reduce thereafter and only sporadic cases are seen accompanying in acute infectious diseases nowadays. The one experienced by the present authors was a boy of 9 years and 2 months suffering from sepsiss. The patient was hospitalized with the main complaints of high fever, subcutaneous hemorrhage and epistaxis. A powerful new chemotherapy was initiated in combination with steroid treatment (Chloramphenicol succinate i, v., Dimethylphenylpenicillin i. v., Dexamethazone i. v. and per os together with blood transfusions and hemostatic agents) .
The patient died on the 14th day after oncet of the disease. Findings of the post moatem autopsy revealed the invasion of staphylococcus into various organs.
Considerations were given on a total of 16 cases reported in the field of pediatrics in Japan in the past 15 years. There were only but 2 cases of those complicated with infectious diseases among them. Such complications, however, show a tendency to increase in the future.
