Experiments were carried out to investigate the effects of 3-aminopropanesulfonic acid (homotaurine, HT), administered alone or in combination with other drugs including hypotensive agents, on the blood pressure in rats with DCA-induced hypertension. The results obtained may be summarized as follows:
    1) The oral administration of HT leads to a persistent lowering of the blood pressure in rats with DCA hypertension, producing maximal reductions in the blood pressure at 1 hour after administration with dosages not lower than 50 mg/kg. Both the degree and duration of the blood pressure fall increased proportionately with dosage increases.
    2) Prolonged oral administration of HT to rats with DCA hypertension producedd consistently almost the same degrees of hypotension; hence no development of tolerance to the drug action.
    3) HT was administered along with such hypotensive agents as hydralazine, fursemide and reserpine to dogs in order to determine whether and, if at all, to what extent the hypotensives might alter the effect of HT on the blood pressure. The concomitant administration. of these hypotensives did not significantly influence the effect of HT on the blood pressure.
    4) In rats, pyridoxal phosphate administered in association with HT was observed to cause no conspicuous interference with the hypotensive effect of the latter.

In order to study the change of blood distribution of brain, renal and retina at the hemorrhagic shock state, authers experimented on the dogs using radioactive isotope (131I-MAA), the plate type thermocouple, and the eyeground camera.
    Following results were obtained;
    1) The radioactivity of the whole brain was 4.65% injected total radioactivity in control, but decreased to 0.24% immediately after hemorrhage, and increased to 12.8% after 60 minutes.
    2) The ratio of cortex to medulla in radioactivity per tissue in gram of the brain was 61.2: 38.8 in control, 56.9: 43.1 in immediately after hemorrhage, 76.6: 23.4 after 60 minutes, respectively.
    3) Under the hypocarbia, the cerebral blood flow did not changed markedly. However, under the encarbia it fell down quickly immediately after hemorrhage and recovered to control value after 60 minutes.
    4) The renal blood flow in hemorrhagic shock decreased markedly or did not.
    5) Blood vessels, especialy artery of the retina became narrow and constricted immediately after hemorrhage at eucarbic condition.

The clinical features in 6 cases of prosthetic valve replacement during past 3 years are reviewed. Among them, one case died with hemorrhage and low cardiac output, one case died on the 53 rd post- operative day, another 4 cases are excellent and they are now received anticoagulant medicals.
Since 1965, 64 patients with cardiac valve disease recieved operation, of whom 48 had closed mitral commissurotomy, 4 had open mitral commissurotomy, 5 had mitral prosthetic valve replacement, 4 was inserted with aortic ball valve and 3 patients with Ebstein's malformation was replaced prosthetic heart valve in the tricuspid position.
And recent tendency of prosthetic valve replacement are discussed. Prosthetic valve replacement is the best treatment for the patients who have resistance to medical treatment.

Immunological studies were made on Ehrlich ascites cancer. Results were as follow:
    1) The mice sensitized with Ehrlich ascites cancer extract with Incomplete or Complete Freund's Adjuvant, were shown to survive a little longer than those sensitize with same antigen without adjuvant.
    2) By means of fluorescent antigen technique, specific stainings were found in the menbrane of splenic lymphocytes of immunized animals, the fluoresence rate was highest on the 7 th day after immunization.
    3) Adoptive immunity was established by transfer of the immunized splenic cells into peritoneal carity of normal mice, and survival effect of the immunized cells was recognized untill 7 th day. Thus the presence of cellular antibody was suggested.
    4) Immunized splenic cells adhered to Ehrlich cells, and the rate of adherence was highest on the 7 th day of immunity.
    5) Blastoid transformation of lymphocytes by phytohemagglutinin and Ehrlich ascites cancer extract occured more markedly in the mice of immunized group than those of control group, and it was highest on the third day of immunity.
It was suggested that the immunity ageinst Ehrlich ascites cancer was mostly related to cellular antibodies.

The present paper is concerned with a case of Felty Syndrome.
The patient was a 68-year-old, housewife, and was admitted to our hospital with chief complaints of palpitation. Since his midfifties the patient had been troubled with rheumatoid arthritis and she was found to be thrombocytopenia at age 61.
The examinations of blood showed slight hypochromic anemia and leukopenia. Serum protein electrophoresis disclosed an increase in the r-globulin fraction. A latex fixation test was positive.
The patient was given Fe-agent without improvement of anemia but there was a striking improvement with a administration of prednisolone.
The problem of Felty Syndrome was discussed in this case report.
