The growth patterns at the tip of cancer infiltration were studied in 85 cases of endometrial cancer which were excised by operation.
Generally, the rate of cancer growth is divided into 2 types; the comparatively slow growing type and the rapid growing one. Morphologically, the growth patterns of polypoid forms, superficially spreading forms (mucosa cancer) and expansively or plexif ormlike intramuscularly infiltrated forms, represent the former type. These growth patterns are also seen in benign tumor.
On the other hand, cancer cells scatter intramuscularly into small cell groups and permeate into the lymph-and blood-vessels of myometrium, in the rapid growing type.
The former growth patterns, were 42.3 % of the cases studied. In these cases the cancer localizes to corpus uteri, the degree of intramuscular infiltration is shallow, stroma is fibroplastic or nonreactive, cancer cells consist of differentiated adenocarcinoma and the prognosis is favorable.
In the latter type, the spread of cancer is wide, cancer infiltration often reaches the serosa of the uterus or cervix, stroma is fibrolytic, cancer cells are anaplastic and often have ovarial metastasis and prognosis is unfavorable.

The differentiation of myeloblastic cells presents a problem in cases with a negative peroxidase reaction. The rate of positive reaction varies according to the method of peroxidase reaction. In view of the dissociation between electronmicroscopic findings and the biochemical peroxidase reaction on one hand and the rate of positive peroxidase reaction on the other, the possibility of elevating the rate of positive peroxidase reaction through an improvement of the method has been suggested. Expeiments were therefore carried out by adding 0.1% KCl and 0.01% Glucose in the Sato-Sekiya method to determine the elevationtn of the rate of positive reaction.

D-amino acid oxidase (EC 1.4.3.3. D-amino acid ; O2 oxidoreductase) was examined with rat tissues. Tissue homogenates were centrifuged at 800 g. Supernatants were used as enzyme sources. Oxygen polarography was applied to this experiment, and oxygen consumption was determined at 38°C
The result was given as follows :
The order of the enzyme activity in rat tissues was as follows : kidney > skin > liver > brain > stomach > spleen > heart > intestine > muscle.
The author found that the skin had very high activity of this enzyme.

Many studies bring the fact that the synthesis of collagen decline under the condition in the case of scorbutic guinea pigs. They also provide that the same condition have influence on the carbohydrate metabolism. Assuming that a lowering of collagen synthesis under scorbutic guinea pig is owe to that of composition of polysaccharide which is regard to be neccessary for the collagen synthesis, we firstly produced scurvy of symptoms on guinea pigs by scorbutic diet and studied enzymes of carbohydrate metabolism using those livers. Enzymes are phospho-glucomutase, 6-phosphoglucoisomerase, glucose-6-phosphatase, glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase, 6-phosphogluconate dehydrogenase. Of them, a deviation from normality was shown only in glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase. Other enzymes did not show so much deviation from normality. Such our study is proved different from that by Ganguli in India which proves they show a large deviation.

Gallamine Triethiodide was administered to 23 cases to examine potency and effects during general anesthesia.
    The following results were obtained.
    1. Adequate muscular relaxation was obtained in all cases after 2 mg/kg of gallamine were administered intravenously.
    2. Increase in puls rate was observed in 70 per cent, and arterial blood pressure wasa elevated in 73 per cent with the administration of gallamine.
    3. Neuro-muscular block by gallamine was antagonized by vagostigmine.

A male, aged 68, was admitted for transvesical prostatectomy with a diagnosis of prostatic hypertrophy. He had a high fever of unknown cause on 24th day after the operation and one cc of 50 w/v % sulpyrinum (Metilon), which had caused untoward reaction in 'this patient about 21 days ago, was administered intramuscularly. Within a few minutes after injection, anaphylactic shock developed and progressed to cardiac arrest. Artificial ventilation and closed-chest cardiac massage were started immediately, and spontaneous heart beat reappeared after 20 minutes. Because of respiratory failure, a tracheostomy was performed and his respiration was controlled or assisted with respirator for 7 days. He did not regain consciousness, and eventually expired on 197th day after cardiac arrest.
Cause of anaphylactic shock and its treatment, emergency resuscitation, prognosis of cardiac arrest, long-term artificial ventilation were discussed in detail.

A femele, aged 56 entailed foreignbody (metalic olive of gastric tube) in the esophagus, when gastric tube was withdrawn with violent force. On observation of chest-roentgenogram, foreign body was erroneously diagnosed as existed in the right bronchus in stead of esophagus. Its removal was tried under bronchoscopy without success. Therefore, image-intensifier was use to ascertain its location, combined with bronchoscope. It was clarified that the foreign body existed in the esophagus in lien of bronchus. It was removed easily with forceps under esophagoscopy with roentogenography.
