Statistical observation was carried out on 8, 726 cases of ski-injury experienced till the skiing season in 1961, both at Akakura skiing ground from the end of December, 1956 and Ishiuchi-Maruyama skiing ground from the end of December, 1957.
    Results were as follows:
    (1) The incidence of injury was different between the two places, showing the percentage of 0.7 at Akakura and 1.2 at Ishiuchi-Maruyama.
    (2) The incidence was higher in men than women and in the age of two decades than others.
    (3) The incidence of the spain of knee-joint and ankle joint stood in the first, next were the fracture of ankle, fracture of leg and incised wound of hand and leg in descending order.
    (4) The injured were found in great number among the biginners, especially among those who did not have enough sleep.
    (5) Ther ewere the two peaks of incidence, the one at 11.00 a. m. and the other at 3.00 p, m. and the most of injuries broke out about 3 hours after the biginning of skiing.
    (6) The most of injuries were occured on the slopes with less crowded skiers.
    (7) When the nature of snow was nice and hard, the sprain, contusion and incised wounds were numerous, while fractures were frequent when it was heavy. About bindings, those who wore wire-style binding had got injured by overhelming majority, but also those who wore the safty-binding had frequently got injured.

Male guinea pigs, ranging from 200 g to 300 g, were placed on a scorbutigenic diet and resulted in signs of scurvy within three weeks. After four weeks, animals were sacrified and femurs were dissected for the analyze of citrate, glucosamine and hydroxyproline content. No significant differences was observed in the concentrations of above substances compared scorbutic animals with normal ones.
After femurs were fractured in middle of shafts, guinea pigs were fed normal diet for 7-14 days untill callus were formed to a certain degree. Thereafter the animals were maintained on scorbutigenic diet for four weeks. Then the animals were killed and callus were resected. The concentration of citrate, glucosamine and hydroxyproline in the callus were compared scorbutic animals with normal ones. In the survy animals a decreased formation of collagen was observed in callus, while citrate and glucosamine levels remained unaltered in both group of animals.

The effect of beryllium administration upon the calcification of femurs and tibiae was investigated. Male, young albino rats, weighing approximately 30 gm., were fed a synthetic diet containing 2.2 per cent of BeCO3. (Be: P=0.38%: 0.47%) . At the end of the third weeks, the animals were killed by heart puncture and the blood was determined on the serum alkaline phosphatase activity. The femurs were removed to estimate citrate and glucosamine content, and tibiae were ashed in furnace. In every items, no significant difference could be found between beryllium fed and normal animals. Furthermore, X-rays of the legs showed no rachitic changes. When the animals were fed a diet contained a little more beryllium than phosphorus (Be: P=0.38%: 0.34%) for two weeks, rathitogenic changes could be noted on the epiphyseal plate of legs in X-rays. Cigrate and glucosamine concentrations of femurs in beryllium rachitic rats wereincreased, however, the ratio of ash content was decreased. The level of serum alkaline phosphatase did not show any sitnificant difference so far as the mean value was concerned, but greater variance could be found in beryllium fed animals compared with the control animals.
The effect of vitamin D on the beryllium rachitic animals could not be observed,

The phlegmone of the stomach is very rare and its diagnosis is very difficult.
It is almost caused by streptococci bacilli, and Most of the patients of this disease were heavy drinkers and liked heavy foods which stimulate to the gastric mucosa.
The most important symptome is the achilia of the gastric juice, and this is a very important condition of the disease.
We reported of phlegmone of the stomach which was resected because of misdiagnosis for gastric cancer.

We have recently experienced 4 cases of gastroduodenal disease taking an interesting course.
The cases 1 and 2 were cases of gastric cancer. In the case 1 recurrence of carcinoma was observed in the remaining stomach by laparatomy, about by total resection complete cure was brought.
The case 2 was doubtful of recurrence of cancer, but was fortunately devied the recurrence by laparatomy.
Both cases 3 and 4 were cases of gastroduodenal ulcer. The case 3 was a case of highly standing ileus due to unskilled operative procedure, By laparatomy the ileus was confirmed and the complete cure was brought about by reoperation.
In the case 4 complaints due to the so tolled dunping syndrome was severer than those of duodenal ulcer.
