23 autopsy cases of chronic glomerulonephritis during 1958-1970 which were not carried out artificial kidney and peritoneal perfusion were pathologically studied.
1) The cases of glomerulonephritis were in 3 types of a) nephrosclerotic, b) prolif erative, and c) necrotic degenerative type devded.
2) The 1 st and 2nd type resembled in fbroplastic atrophic and sclerotic change, collapse of glomeruli, extend of lesion and grade similarly, except proliferation of endothels and mesangium cells, and it can not be observed evident difference in both type on pathological and clinical view point.
3) The 3 rd type is containing 5 cases and revealed necrosis of arterioles, degeneration and necrosis of capillaries extending from vesselspole to periphery as the vascular change of the last stage showing in malignant nephrosclerosis histopathologically.
4) The cases revealing theses changes of arterioles and capillaries as the appearance of last stage in chronic glomerulonephritis are called malignant phase of chronic glomerulonephritis. In this meaning the cases of the 3rd type will be included in this category due to the pathohistological specific finding.
5) For a pathogenetic process of malignant phase of chronic glomerulonephritis., I want emphasis to agree on the “Dyshorie” theory.
