This Paper Presents a coding method for stereoscopic HDTV sequences, which are multiplexed in time domain at a transmitter. In this proposed method, high frequency signals are compensated using disparity vectors. We have compared the proposed method with the MVP(Multi-View Profile)of MPEG-2 on the picture quality of stereoscopic sequences. This paper reports the relationship between bit-rate and picture quarlity for each method. The results show that the proposed method provides higher quality of stereoscopic sequences with rapid motions.
The draft standard for DTTB(Digital Terrestrial Television Broadcasting)system was approved employing OFDM(Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing)digital transmission scheme last year in Japan. DTTB services are simultaneously operated along with analog television services. It should be considered that DTTB signals are interfered with by the analog signals under this situation. This paper reports the experimental results about the protection ratios for DTTB against analog television signals. The results show that Co-channel protection ratios of 25dB, and adjacent protection ratios of no more than -20 dB are required when DTTB signal is modulated by 64 QAM-OFDM and coded by convolutional code at a rate of 7/8.
We have developed OFDM(Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing)transmission equipment which is based on tentative specification of digital terrestrial television broadcasting in Japan. In this paper, we report the equipment and results of laboratory experiment using with it. The results show validity of the system under various interference conditions.
In this paper, we report development of "Intelligent Robot Camera System". The controlled camera by this system can fallon awtomatically the target as the Newscaster in Newsshow by "Moving vector". The "Moving vector" is a kind of Image Processings, which calculated by a sequence of frames. Therefore, with Connecting Personal Computer to exare the Image Processing, general remote-controlled camera system is simply modified to "Intelligent Robot Camera System.
In recent TV programs, the large number of complicated requirements for digital image productions have been tremendously increasing. In this paper, we at NHK Tokyo describe the present situation of studying toward a suitable pre-production work for the image productions and discuss the future prospects of a HDTV image production method utilizing digital technologies.
