There are two pattern of innovation, exploit and exploration. Corporate have to balance each for long term growth, but tend to overexploitation by short term efficiency. To avoid overexploitation, established firm should make independent organization to carry out explorative innovation, like internal corporate venture. But in case of product development level innovation, resources and developers are limited and fixed, so it is difficult to divide them and make independent develop team for explorative products. This summary paper presents Japanese video game software developing firms' solution for this difficulty, using intra-firm development and external developers' resources.
