In OFDM transmission, performance is degraded by the existence of time domain impulse noise because this noise has very wide bandwidth and it affects all the carriers in the OFDM symbol. Moreover, transmission characteristic is extremely degraded under multi-path channel. In this paper, the impulse noise reduction techniques that the time sample is replaced and the signal is subtracted by the replica signal of the impulse noise are proposed. When plural impulse noise is existed in an OFDM symbol, the process of the impulse noise reduction by subtracting the replica signal is modified. The performance of the OFDM system is evaluated and effectiveness of the proposed scheme is shown.

The performance of OFDM is improved by pre-coding data symbols on the frequency domain. An iterative detection of pre-coded OFDM has been proposed to improve the problem that. In this paper, a symbol replacement method for iterative detection of Pre-coded OFDM is examined. As a result, the parformance characteristic is improbed by replacing symbols one by one in pre-coded OFDM system.

Digital terrestrial television broadcasting based on OFDM is rapidly diffusing. One-segment service has launched for mobile reception of digital television broadcasting and various services are expected. In this paper, cooperative reception scheme of digital TV broadcasting ISDB-T one-segment service is discussed. Cooperative reception scheme using the scattered pilot symbol is proposed. The proposed scheme can decrease amount of sharing information among the receivers.

In July 2011, a new broadcasting service called "Mobile Multimedia Broadcasting" will start its service on channels 1 to 3 in the VHF band. In this broadcasting, the introduction of a new storable broadcasting service is now under consideration. In the storable service, users will be able to view contents after recording them. The storable broadcasting service will be done on narrow bandwidth, so it is the problem to transmit storable contents information used for reservation. To solve the problem, we developed a new contents schedule table and evaluated it versus EIT.

NHK's special drama "Sakano Uueno Kumo" creates the new HD image expression along atmospheres at the Meiji era that is drastic reforms were carried out in practically all areas. In order to enable a difficult image expression, we effectively introduce new VFX (visual effects) technology and reform workflows in drama production and develop facility equipments. This paper describes a method of production including dynamic 3D models and RGB4:4:4 camera systems.

There is strong needs to establish the system, named "Okuri-Kaeshi", which send back the on-air program with low delay to OB vehicle by the termination of analogue terrestrial broadcasting. Especially in marathon race, it will be difficult to deliver the on-air program from the studio toward moving OB vehicle with low delay after analogue switch-off. We developed the "Okuri-Kaeshi" system using the consumer electronics products. The transmission link of this system is consisted of the mobile cellular system. This paper describes the results of performance evaluations of this system using the several mobile cellular systems, i.e. 3G and BWA, at the real route of marathon race.

An improvement scheme for degradation of reception characteristics of the digital terrestrial television broadcasting (DTTB) is an important issue. The degradation is caused by multipath effects and masking problem of the direct path, thus an analyzing technique for the channel is significant. Resolution of distance in delay profile is not enough using only one channel. In this paper, the multi-channel connection scheme is proposed. Resolution of distance in delay profile is improved by the proposed scheme.

The field measurement is important to evaluate the reception environment of the terrestrial digital broadcasting. This system revolves the directional antenna for the measurement, and measures it by the synchronizing method using the feature of digital broadcasting. The feature is a technique for the continuous record and analyzing the antenna azimuth and the reception signal, and the measurement time is also extremely short in a horizontal plane for about one minute from 30 seconds. As a result, the direction where the multi-pass comes can be analyzed.

Recently, a high-power and high-speed wireless LAN router, IEEE802.11n, with a data transmission rate of 300Mbps have been developed. Using this equipment as an access point makes it possible to multicast HDTV videos between floors in the adjacent as well as between rooms in the same floor. This paper discusses the relationship between received signal strengths and throughputs based on the measured and calculated indoor propagation characteristics.

Currently the high-speed wireless LAN system, IEEE802.11n, is widely used. Its advantages are a high output power and a high transmission rate such as 300Mbps with the bandwidth of 40MHz. So they make it possible to communicate with clients over the wider area including the line-of-sight and non-line-of-sight, as well as plural floors in a building. In this paper, measurements of indoor propagation characteristics are carried out for a wireless LAN system based on an IEEE802.11n standard. Furthermore, they are estimated by using the large-scale electromagnetic field analysis to show the validity of the experiment result and the effectiveness of computer simulations.
