We proposed a content delivery service by which users can select viewing program contents by the on-air time in addition to selecting them by the broadcasting program unit. In this paper we report experimental results of user's behavioral pattern to validate tags which are provided to program scenes have efficient for viewers finding out interesting broadcasting program.
Although there are soft and strained movements, the difference is very small and it is difficult to determine them. This paper describes how to distinguish soft movement and strained movement. Assuming that the difference between soft and strained occurs easily in the arm movement, we analyzed the motion capture data of arm swing. This paper proposes two methods. One method uses regression analysis for the parameters of acceleration and jerk in order to decide a border line between soft and strained movements. Another method uses Support Vector Machines for the parameters of acceleration and jerk in order to distinguish soft and strained movements. The former method could distinguish 67% of movements, and the latter method could distinguish 58% of movements.
The use of the 3D printer is able to make visualization and to haptization of disease states with particular patients in the medical fields. This paper generates assessment models of haptic perception by using 3D printed objects for the use of the medical education. The assessment stimuli are composed of 3D printed objects and gel as a pseudo depiction of subcutaneous tumor masses. Assessment experiment evaluates the effect of the difference that the implant method on haptic perception. The assessment experiment by Receiver Operating Characteristic (ROC) analysis showed that the statistical difference of the implant method does not affect haptic perception.
Pulse measuring technique using thermal image has been reported as one of the non-contact and non-invasive pulse measurement method. In this paper, for the automatic pulse measurement, we propose a method to detect the radial artery to be used in the pulse measurement using the temperature distribution of the forearm surface. By an experimental result using palpation result as the truth value, 9 of 14 subjects succeeded in the detection of the radial artery.
In basketball video analysis, tracking of a ball is an important issue for individual and team technical improvement and strategic analysis of opposing teams. We have studied a stable method for performing self-calibration of cameras at each frame based on the captured image sequences using known geometric information in a court. In this study, using the determined camera pose and position, we propose a ball tracking method using multi-view image sequences to avoid occlusions, by which the 3D position of a ball can be determined.
