As a noise suppressing method for cellular phones and desk top personal computers and others, sheet type materials with magnetic loss attached on noise source (an IC and the others) are widely used. This paper describes how to suppress the noise by filling newly developed globular magnetic ferrite into IC resin package for more density. Therefore, we optimized component, shape of magnetic ferrite and filling rate etc. and verified that they are very practical.

This is a cost-saving device for uniting higher quality HD transmissions and stabilizations from an outside (broadcasting van (a "moving OB van") during the live broadcast of road races such as marathons. The directional antenna transmits from the side of a moving OB van to a reception point for the steady transmission of HD images, even if there is only one reception point. Certain software has also been developed, inexpensively, to include the use of moving lights on the par head device around which the antenna turns. Along with the development of an HD mileometer, a mileometer control was also installed and connected to the managing software.

The authors have been studying and developing a MIMO-OFDM technology for future 800MHz-band FPU (field pick-up unit) system, aiming for high data rate and high link reliability transmissions. In the beginning, the authors focused on space-time trellis code (STTC) which exploits temporal and spatial diversities, and proposed a 16-QAM 64-state 2x2 STTC. Then the transmission performance of the proposed 2x2 STTC was examined by computer simulations and fundamental transmission experiments. Last year, an outdoor experiment on the course of "Hiroshima Ekiden" was carried out in order to evaluate the transmission performance of the proposed 2x2 STTC and prototype 2x2 STTC-MIMO-OFDM transmission equipment under actual propagation environment. And the results are shown here.

We are conducting the research for a future advanced 800MHz-band FPU (Field Pick-up Unit) transmission system. Aiming at high data rate transmission and high reliability of wireless link, an LDPC coded MIMO-OFDM prototype system was developed. In this report, mobile transmission experiments were conducted in actual Hiroshima ekiden course and Nagano marathon course using the prototype system, and some basic parameters, such as the number of iterations on RLS algorithm and LDPC decoding, was optimized. Further, transmission reliability due to the number of antennas was evaluated using empirical cumulative distributions of bit error rate.

The Digital Broadcasting Experts Group (DiBEG) was founded in 1997 to promote ISDB-T, the Japanese Digital Terrestrial Broadcasting System, in the world. Activities of DiBEG have been focused on countries in Asia and South America. In 2006 Brazil selected digital terrestrial broadcasting system based on ISDB-T, after that Peru, Argentina, Chili and Venezuela adopted ISDB-T. This paper describes recent DiBEG activities to promote ISDB-T in the world.

We are studying on improvement of ISDB-T HDTV mobile reception for expanding reception area, such as the space diversity technology up to 4-branch and directional diversity technology. In this paper, we describe the performance of two technologies adopted reception scheme by computer simulation. One is 8-branch space diversity reception technology, and the other is iterative decoding technology between Viterbi decoding and Reed-Solomon decoding. Comparing the performance of the proposed 8-branch space diversity technology with iterative decoding to that of the conventional 4-branch space diversity without iterative decoding in mobile reception environment, about 4dB is improved by space diversity technology, about 2dB is improved by the iterative decoding, and totally about 6dB is improved by the combined technology.
