CONFERENCE PROCEEDINGS FREE ACCESSA display device that has a large number of pixels is required to improve the image quality of integral three-dimensional (3D) images. However, no display elements currently have a greater number of pixels than an 8K display, so improving the quality of these integral 3D images is difficult using a single display device. Therefore, we have developed a method for seamlessly connecting the images of multiple displays and for improving the quality of the integral 3D images. In the previous prototype, the quality of the integral 3D images deteriorated when using a magnifying optical system having a complicated structure and a diffusion plate. CONFERENCE PROCEEDINGS FREE ACCESSWe are researching to find the proper video coding techniques for integral 3D images to obtain a more efficient compression performance. In this paper, we show the compression performance for captured elemental images by using the existing techniques such as 3D-HEVC and precisely describe the proposed method for resizing the elemental image before converting it into multi-view images. CONFERENCE PROCEEDINGS FREE ACCESSIn this paper, we propose a distance estimation method utilizing image recognition for an automatic traveling wheelchair. The proposed method includes image magnification to extend the recognition distance and image recognition to estimate the position by utilizing a relationship in which the size of an object in an image is inversely proportional to the distance between a camera and the object. CONFERENCE PROCEEDINGS FREE ACCESSBroadcasting receivers with receiving function for digital radio service have been developed recently in the world. Especially DAB (Digital Audio Broadcast) as digital radio broadcasting standards with various service platforms is widely deployed in many countries. In DAB system, DQPSK is specified as modulation scheme and it has a general problem of deteriorating symbol error rate compared to that of synchronous detection. This is caused that demodulation method for DQPSK must be operated by using both noised received signal and noised delayed signal. Therefore, we propose a new demodulation method with simple signal processing, and also reveal that our method can obtain the advantageous effect in BER improvement effect under noisy and mobile reception environment.View full abstractDownload PDF (435K) -

CONFERENCE PROCEEDINGS FREE ACCESSBecause a guitar playing requires a huge fingering training, it is difficult for beginners to play beautiful sound by pressing the correct strings. This paper suggests that a guitar playing support system using image and sensor data processing can help the beginners to improve their playing skills. To recognize strings, frets, fingering, and playing sound corresponding to fingering, our system gets an initial position of the guitar and tracks the guitar position using feature points and sensor information while playing. In addition, our system detects the finger position and estimates pressed strings. In the experiments, we evaluate a success rate of the feature point matching and guitar slope detection for guitar tracking, and pressed strings estimation.
