In urban areas such as multi-path measurements, it is important to measure three-dimensional spatial distribution of the arrival wave. The measurement accuracy of the DOA, which greatly affect the polarization of the antenna. We report attempted to measure the cross polarization characteristics of the antenna measured in an anechoic chamber.

As a number of digital terrestrial broadcasting stations have constructed and started to transmit broad-casting wave, it becomes a serious problem of reception errors in spite of high receiving power. Although we had developed a interference canceller for broadcast-wave relay stations, an adaptive array is desirable to be more robust against low D/U multipath environment as a receiver for the service area. In this report, we propose the weight coefficients optimization algorithm using the reciprocal numbers. Numerical examples show the effectiveness of the proposed method.

The objectives of this paper is to evaluate indoor propagation characteristics such as electric field distributions and data throughput rates in a residential house for a commercial wireless LAN access point operating in the frequency band of 2.4GHz based on the IEEE802.11n standard. An access point set at the two different locations in the house is used to measurement indoor propagation characteristics. Furthermore numerical simulations with the developed numerical model of the residential house are carried out to estimate the indoor electric field distributions. Comparing the numerical results with the measurements, the paper shows the effectiveness of the calculation method and the validity of the experimental results.

Recently, a commercial dual-band wireless LAN access points based on the IEEE802.11n standard operating in the frequency bands of 2.4GHz and 5GHz is available. Using these access points in an indoor wireless network, the paper measures indoor propagation characteristics such as electric field distributions and average data throughputs in a residential house. In the experiment two different types of access point are tested and compared with each other for several parameters such as the frequency bands, occupied bandwidths and specified window sizes.

In the DTTB (Digital terrestrial Television Broadcasting), service availability is determined by BER (Bit Error Rate) after decode. BER is decreased by improving error correction capability. In this paper, we propose Viterbi decoding method using error information of Reed-Solomon decode and C/N, and describe the results of the simulation about the effectiveness of the method.

DTTB (Digital terrestrial television broadcasting) has immunity for electromagnetic noise. Shinkansen generates impulse noise while running. Receiver along the Shinkansen Line may not receive DTTB signals when Shinkansen pass through. In this paper, we describe the results of the field experiments and mention the Shinkansen noise to the receiving condition.

Slow-motion images captured by high speed cameras are used in sports broadcast. Flicker or jerkiness in the slow-motion images emerges, when a high speed camera captures the LED displays placed in sports stadium while shooting the sports event. These artifacts occur mainly because of the LED's PWM emission control which is not applied to the high speed photography. Therefore we developed high frame rates, 4320 frames per second, LED display system by means of acceleration of PWM's clock frequency to solve these problems.

This report describes the development of aerial HD video shooting by Electric Quad Rotor UAV. To achieve this objectives, a prototype mount was built to hang a camcorder from the UAV with stabilization mechanism. The combination of the developed system and the UAV for aerial video offers several advantages such as quiet, engine exhaust gas free and better collision-safety due to lightweight body and propellers made of carbon fiber. The report also provides a success of aerial HD shooting of ferocious animals very close range.

This report is about a new type of the camera stabilizer mounting on the shoulder for broadcasting use, which is currently under development. This system is a stabilizer which enables to shoot with the same style as usual by attaching it to the bottom of the camera. With the method of reducing the vibration by generating a counter force with an actuator (magnet coil) against the vibration detected by a sensor, a high vibration isolation effect to roll and pitch directions were confirmed.

In August 21 2010, NTV had produced baseball game live in 3D at first time. Not only stereoscopic vision by 3D cameras, but also we had produced information displays in 3D (ex: scoreboard, defensive positioning). We had output information displays by the newly developed 3D graphics generator, and had created designs and animations optimized streoscopic vision.

We are studying the 21GHz band satellite broadcasting system for a transmission channel to deliver Super Hi-Vision. A reference pattern of the receiving antenna is required to make criteria of frequency sharing between the 21GHz band broadcasting satellites. In this paper, we describe the measured radiation pattern data of the prototype receiving antenna for the 21GHz band satellite broadcasting system, and the compatibility about the applying the 12GHz band reference pattern defined by Rec. ITU-R BO. 1213 to the 21GHz band reference pattern.

After July 2011, a new broadcasting service called "Mobile Multimedia Broadcasting" will start its service on channels 1 to 3 in the VHF band. In this broadcasting, the introduction of a new storable broadcasting service is now under consideration. In the storable service, users will be able to view contents after recording them. The data carousel transmission method is proposed as a method to conclude this storable service only through broadcast wave. So first we clarified the relationship between the size of DDB and the probability of receiving successful content by laboratory test.
