A subjective evaluation experiment was carried out in order to investigate the psychological evaluation structure of skin color reproduction in portrait with photo sticker machine. We used Scheffe's method of paired comparison, with 27 young female observers asked to evaluate 6 different skin color reproductions by using 22 descriptive terms. Multidimensional scaling (MDS) analysis was applied to the results of 6 samples for 22descriptive terms. The psychological evaluation structure of skin color reproduction in portrait with photo sticker machine was almost represented by MDS configuration of paired comparison results.
A novel user interaction system combining an aerial display and a gesture interaction is expected to provide an excellent user experience. However, its psychometric effectiveness has not been sufficiently explored. In this reported study, we performed a usability test of the system that comprised an aerial display, gesture interaction, and suitable software content. Using a statistical analysis, the importance of a suitable combination of aerial display and gesture interaction as well as the novelty of the aerial display were demonstrated.
Previous studies have suggested that image spatial resolution and contents have little effect on the preferred viewing distance (PVD) of TV. However, in future TV systems such as 4k and 8k TVs with a wide field of view and high spatial resolution, TV program production methods may change depending on the TV system parameters, and viewer behaviors including PVD may change accordingly. Here, we conducted two experiments with a TV program consisting of still images to show that PVD is shorter in the high spatial resolution TV than low spatial resolution TV.
