    With the widespread use of MobileIPv6/Network Mobility(NEMO) protocol, network environment is also changing frequently. In NEMO environment, it is important to manage and monitor mobile nodes(mobile routers). When managing and monitoring, if many nodes with a lot of management information connect to one mobile router, the increase of monitoring traffic might influence other regular communications. For keeping the monitoring traffic at a constant level, a process that can be adaptive to the changes in network environment is necessary. In this paper, we propose a method of dispersing information transmission from each node and aim for an efficient information collection for management in NEMO environment.

    In this paper, a method of vertical handover using SIP and Multi-Link Multi-Homing is proposed to select the wireless communication media in heterogeneous wireless network where 3.5G mobile phone system, WiMAX and Wireless LAN coexist. In this paper, when the mobile terminal move across the area of WLAN and WiMAX. Vertical handover is performed according to the network traffic. Proposed method is evaluated by using computer simulations.

    To realize the ubiquitous network environment enabling the Internet that can be accessed at anytime, from anywhere, and by anyone, a MobileIP protocol to realize mobility of IP nodes is formed. Furthermore NEMO protocol to realize network mobility of routers is also created. For widespread use of these technologies, we argued that new network management and monitoring are needed to stably run the MobileIPv6/NEMO network. In this paper, we describe the characteristics of MobileIPv6/NEMO network, and necessity and problems of its management and monitoring from the perspective of network management. We further propose a monitoring technology for mobile devices to estimate fault position in MobileIPv6/NEMO network.

    In this report, a music extraction technique, which can be applied on consumer electric products, is proposed to detect when there is music in the FM radio broadcasting by using the analysis of power change and GMM. Usually, when music is broadcasted, the voice power is less, compared to the time of DJ's talk. According to the factor, the candidates(changing points) of the boundaries between music broadcast and DJ's talk are firstly detected; and then classification is applied to eliminate the false positives by GMM. A section of time is considered to be the music broadcasting if the duration between two consecutive recognized boundaries is longer than a threshold. Two definitions, music extraction accuracy and extraction rate of music, are defined for the evaluation of our proposed method according to the viewpoint of usability.

    It is expected that a new market is opened up for personal services by TV with broadband because TV receiver set is also most popular in all of the media for a household. Authors have already reported single sign on (SSO) ID federation system for TV receiver with broadband. Their SSO system is able to provide services for members with less operate in the safe. But in many times, a user changes his device depending on his situation. For example a service in the fixed receiver like TV should seamlessly take over to other service in the mobile device. User-friendliness of a service improves spectacularly if federation of between devices is available. Authors constructed multi-device (MD) SSO system depending of each service application. MD-SSO system is made of liberty alliance standard specification for a web service.

    In the WLAN network where several APs (access points) coexist, congestion is occurred when traffic load is increased in certain AP. Several load balancing schemes have been proposed. However, they cause a malfunction in the present of co-channel interference because they assume that different channels are assigned to every AP. Therefore, schemes based on the traffic load of channel is required. In this paper, a new AP selection scheme realizing load balancing between each channels is proposed and its effectiveness is shown through computer simulations.

    On wireless LAN, the available bandwidth which a node can use varies according to the number of nodes connected to the access point, data rate and so on. Therefore, when a node hands over from an idle wireless access point to a congested one, due to the delay of the adaptation of data sending rate, packets of realtime data may suffer excessive transmission delay. To prevent this problem, we have proposed a scheme that a control server notifies a handover node of a suitable new sending rate according to estimated available bandwidth at the new AP. ITo seek an effective way for estimating available bandwidth just after a handover, we measured a correlation between the interval of arrival time of probe packets which are sent periodically on a wireless LAN and the sending rate of data flows of DCCP CCID3 on a real wireless LAN. Based on the measurement results, we discuss strategies to estimate a sending rate using the interval of arrival time of probe packets.

    This paper proposes a packet transmission suppression control method for VoIP capacity expansion in Wireless LAN. The proposed method suppresses packets transmission of each station within the QoS (Quality of Service) allowable range in order to expand a VoIP capacity of an AP without critical QoS degradation for all stations. Simulation results show that the proposed method with 0.5% packet suppression control on each station expands a VoIP capacity by up to 4% compared to a legacy method without packets transmission suppression, while the proposed method satisfies required QoS for all stations.

    In ubiquitous computing environments, which consist of various entities such as users, hardware, software and networks, it is desired for context-aware services to distribute context information effectively in adapting to targeted environment, as well as to provide and provide the main service with user requested quality. In this paper, we propose an adaptive information management scheme for context-aware service. To realize this we compose the entities which configure ubiquitous services as a form of multiple agents in this scheme.

    Agent-oriented middleware with the ability of adaptation to dynamically changing environments is a promising direction for application developments in ubiquitous computing environments. In this paper, we propose an adaptive inter-platform communication mechanism which can select a communication scheme flexibly based on properties of inter-agent communications and situations of computational and network resources. We focus on a design of this mechanism in this paper.

    An enormous amount of service requests triggered by specific events, such as an interactive quiz show on a TV program, can be expected to occur within a short period of time. Those service requests can disable the end server when their amount exceeds the admissible capability of the end server. In order to address this problem, this paper proposes an access control system using orderly ticket issuing function. The proposed system introduces a server, which distributes orderly tickets to user terminals. In the proposed system, the user terminals which are going to send the service requests can be controlled with a web script. Thereby the number of service requests toward the end server can be adjusted within the limits of the admissible request rate of the end server. Since the web script has been supported by most mobile terminals, the proposed system can easily apply to existing systems without any elaborate enhancements of user terminals and end servers.

    We have been studying on reception stably HDTV digital terrestrial broadcasting by a high-speed vehicle such as a Bullet train. We reported the analysis results of mobile reception experiments on a bullet train with 4-branch space diversity. In this paper, we reported the analysis results of mobile reception experiments on a bullet train by a space and directional diversity technique with diversity combining that uses array antenna having 2 elements. As a result, the time ratio for the space diversity method was 61.3%, and for the directional method was 57.5%, in the total of all measurement routs in a high-speed mobile reception environment on a bullet train.

    Mobile reception of digital terrestrial television broadcasting is a reception environment different from a fixed reception, and attention in various situations of a low antenna height, a low-gain antenna, a portable reception, a mobile reception, and the indoor reception.     Mobile TV services have been launched in many countries. To compare their performances, we need to use the same channel model. This report describes ISDB-T receiver performance in the Typical Urban 6 (TU6), Pedestrian Indoor (PI) and Pedestrian Outdoor (PO) channels, and comparison between ISDB-T and DVB-H performances. Required CN ratio of ISDB-T was lower than that of DVB-H in the TU6 channel, and there are not any significant differences in required CN ratio between ISDB-T and DVB-H in the PI and PO channels.

    When a large-scale disaster occurs, NHK can carry out safety information broadcasting. It is important to gather information efficiently from a stricken area to NHK. We report two types of safety information gathering system using cellular packet communications network. One system is a mailbox that can send safety information to NHK just by pressing a transmitting button using a built-in camera in the mailbox. The other system uses a cellphone and can register individual safety information on homepage of NHK by reading special QR code which permits one-time access.
