In program production system of broadcasting station that handles program files and makes use of computer servers and networks, finished program files are registered for broadcasting by being transferred to registration server. Even if a program file has already registered, the program file is sometimes partially modified. At this point, the registered program file should be quickly replaced to modified one. So, in order to replace only modified parts of the program file, we developed both a method for detecting modified parts in a short time and filesystem capable of inserting and deleting blocks. We also experimentally confirmed that a modified program file can be quickly replaced to registered one by using these techniques.

An advanced form of broadcast satellite digital broadcasting that presents high-quality video services in the 4K and 8K video formats is under consideration. A conditional access system (CAS) will essential for this broadcasting and the creation of a new business model. CAS provides mechanisms to protect content rights and restrict broadcasting reception to only subscribers, by using content scrambling based on cryptography. We assume that attacks by pirates will increase because advanced BS digital broadcasting will have high-quality video content. Therefore, CAS needs high-security functions. In this paper, we clarify the requirements on CAS for advanced BS digital broadcasting and describe a downloadable CAS that meets the requirements. We also conduct an evaluation on an FPGA-based evaluation system with downloadable CAS functions that work on actual services.

We were preparing the experiment systems for DTTB. And we are studying measurement methods for OFDM signals in SFN which some areas will receive same signals from more than one transmitter. In this paper we discus about the test results of measurement method for ISDB-T signals in SFN.

Single frequency network (SFN) relay station for gap filler have a coupling between the transmitting antenna and the receiving antenna. And the coupling repression is important when it is used. The use of the canceller of the coupling is effective, but it is expensive using it for the SFN-GF relay station. Therefore, it is necessary to evaluate the effects of position of antennas without the canceller. We discuss about the results of the basic measurement of effects of antennas position.

With advances in broadband IP networks and codec technologies, IPTV services have become popular. Because IPTV services should be planned and managed based on QoE (Quality of Experience) it is desirable to develop an objective quality assessment model for estimating QoE of IPTV services. In this paper, for the purpose of QoE management, we propose a hybrid video quality assessment model that uses video signals and IP packet headers obtained at a client terminal. Quality estimation accuracy of our model is sufficient in practical use of QoE management for IPTV services.

One of the features of Integrated Services Digital Broadcasting-Terrestrial (ISDB-T) is mobile reception capability. Previously, we have measured and analyzed propagation characteristics of mobile reception environment in urban and suburban areas. For this research, we measured the field strength of a One-Seg signal with a moving vehicle and analyzed the propagation characteristics of mobile reception in a gorge. The results show that with non line of sight, field strength at 1.8 m was 25.4 dB lower than the free space field strength, and the coverage of One-Seg mobile reception in a gorge is almost the same as that of fixed reception when using 2-branch diversity reception.

Since the dipole antenna is one of the fundamental antennas, the antenna has been utilized in various applications. The dipole antenna with ground plane has considerably simple structure and high gain. Usually, distance from the dipole antenna to the ground plane is set at λ/4(λ: wavelength). When the distance is less than λ/4, actual gain of the antenna is decreased due to impedance mismatching. In this paper, parasitic elements are utilized for impedance matching when the distance from the ground plane to the dipole antenna is shorter than ordinary. Through numerical analysis, it is shown that the distance from the ground plane to the dipole antenna can be shorten by about 0.05 wavelength.

Broadband planar loop antenna for digital TV broadcasting reception in 470-770MHz is proposed in this paper. Square, inverse triangle and diamond shape are applied for inlaying window of broadband planar loop antenna. Effects of inlaying window shapes of planar loop antennas on bandwidth characteristics are described. Then the planar loop antenna is compared with single loop antenna and double loop antenna. Furthermore planar loop antenna is applied for reception of terrestrial digital TV broadcasting.

It is often known as a broadband antenna, since log-period type dipole antenna is the self- complementary structure. It is proven that the dimension at the low frequency it has wide frequency characteristics increase on the structure of this antenna. In this paper, the degradation of characteristics was theoretically examined by bending the element for the purpose of the miniaturization of the structure.

Each especially good result of the separation with the adjacency frequency by the simulation at the frequency was obtained each band-pass filter in proportion to the frequency GPS, wireless LAN, and ETC, circuit composed of low-pass filter by the supply of the signal. As a result of producing actual equipment experimentally using this characteristics, good characteristics were obtained.

Recently, we have been using wireless communication in various fields, which is essential to our social and business activity, e.g, broadcast and mobile communication operated from Medium Frequency to Ultra High Frequency (UHF) bands. On the other hand Biological effects due to radio wave exposure are depends on frequency, thermal effects are dominant in high frequency region higher than about 100 kHz. Furthermore, whole-body resonance phenomena arise in VHF band (30-300MHz) when the component of electric field is parallel to the direction of human body's height and the wavelength is about twice the height to human body near 80 MHz. In addition, ground plane was regarded as a perfect electric conductor, while the actual ground plane is lossy medium. In order to model semi-infinite ground, the PML condition which matches lossy ground is used. But, the huge computer resources are required, because, PML needs many additional variables. In this study, an efficient numerical modeling of lossy ground plane for FDTD analysis of induced current is proposed. The proposed method uses Surface Impedance Boundary Condition (SIBC). In this paper, we calculate the induced current of the metal wire standing on the realistic ground plane, and from results, it was shown that the proposed method was effective to model semi-infinite ground.
