This paper presents an efficient method for generating complex motion of a circus acrobatics including calculations for external forces as the gravity and elasticity. Iinteractive circus simulation contents are demonstrated. The authors employ several motion dynamics techniques generated by using a motion generation engine. This allows iterative trial-and-error interaction to perform a wide range of acrobatic motion with a well designed user interface entailing the mouse, keyboard and joystick. The dynamic motion algorithms have improved for faster computation and we simplified the linked object structure and collision detection routines for a smoother operation during real- time interaction. As a results we can easily control the character's behavior on a variety of apparatus such as the trampoline, bungee swing, flying trapeze in our interactive content

AR (Augmented Reality) technology aims to realize a fusion of virtual worlds and the real world. We propose an AR system which enables seamless relation between those two worlds by overlaying virtual images on unknown postured real objects. A stereo camera is used to acquire color and disparity data of real object. In order to determine the position and the posture of the object more accurately, we performe some image processing and data optimization techniques. Finally, we project texture images on the appropriate position of the real objects by using a projector.

This paper proposes a method to realize a 3D real-time physical simulation with regular movement in spite of computer's performance. Computation load is fed back to a processing system, physical calculation processing, then adjusts the amount of calculation. First, subjective evaluation investigates the tolerable frame rate and simulation quality where a user asks in various PC environments. Next, real time operation with sufficient quality in various environments is realized by dividing the amount of calculation into an important portion for a simulation and the other portion.

For 3-dimensional landscape simulation by computer graphics, trees are indispensable element because they can change the impression of the whole scenes and well express seasonal feeling. Since the amount of calculation for shaking trees by wind becomes huge, it is very difficult to realize shaking motion of trees in real time. The purpose of this research is to express natural shaking of trees in real time. Here, a tree consists of some control points, and the shaking trees are realized by substituting a synthetic wave for a control point.

Color electro-holography by white light source were proposed. In the optical setup were complicated, because using single white light source. In this paper, having divided the light source, "focal-points adjustment" becomes more easier. As a result, the system was simplified. We become possible to holographic 3D images including detail yellow.

This paper discusses the method of experiment of Holography and its achieved results by Hologram created with white light laser. In this paper, the optical system was simplified by using only one white laser which oscillated on the same optical axis, which aimed at obtaining a noise reduction and a clearer reproduced image. And then we make comparative study of the feature of the color hologram of one time exposure and multiple exposure.

The painting has a long history and a peculiar aesthetic expression has been pursued. This study is aiming to learn the expression technology by analyzing the painting, to make the best use of it for the hard copy technology, and to obtain an impressive image. Touches and coloring technique of flesh color, used in some portraits by Renoir, Klimt, and Van Gogh were analyzed by measuring the color distribution and spatial frequency, respectively. By adding the information obtained from original painting at various levels a more preferred image as a photograph to a photograph like the painting were made.

This research focuses on the application of motion capture systems and their data for use in character animation. Utilizing motion captures technology by using 3D computer graphics, a problem solving approach is proposed an aim for practical use in Japanese Anime production. This research is distinct the fact that it is based on short animation movies. Not the superiority legacy hand drawn anime and hand applied anime, a new expression is proposed which introduces elements of human motion and anime.

We are developed 3-D display without special glasses using the divided shift-barrier technology. The 3-D display was equipped with new head tracking system, consisting of CCD-camera and electrically movable LC image splitter which is divided 16 areas and controlled individually, which enlarges stereoscopic viewing area, not only the horizontal direction but also the depth direction. This display will lead to various applications including game, CAD/CAM, medical-image, catalog shopping with Internet and so on.

Hello! This film is animation. And one frame is "a piece of work". We made enjoying to move pictures and some objects. Story is not important for us. When you see the film on the screen, you will think this is "a big moving picture". We "improvised animating" characters and some objects. We made to feel some objects "with our hands". So we "get back to the basics of making things". I hope you feel our feelings. Thank you.
