In NHK, many TV-FM relay stations have been installed all over the land so that TV-FM broadcasting can be received universally at each home. Most of small-scale TV・FM relay stations equip BF (Battery Float) system and it is useful to a power supply reservation at the time of a power failure. However, the correspondence to the degradation diagnosis of battery has been a subject towards a stable power supply. Consequently, we propose the management technique of the battery which enables increase in efficiency and reliability by introducing the degradation index which is evaluated by the battery degradation degree. The technique aims to save labor of battery management and to contribute to the stable employment of TV・FM relay stations by combining with the Battery Monitor System developed at the NHK Oita Broadcasting Station.

Coupling loop interference (CLI) between the transmitting and receiving antennas must be suppressed to achieve a broadcast wave relay in single frequency networks (SFN) for digital terrestrial broadcasting. To avoid this interference, we have been developed and showed the effectiveness of a loop canceller. It becomes a important task to grasp the propagation characteristics of CLI to realize a relay station in SFN. This paper describes the measurement and analysis results of coupling, fluctuation and delay spread of CLI..

Fluctuations of frequency characteristics of propagation paths were measured in the experiment of oversea propagation. The receiving level for 99% of the time was about 20dB lower than maximal level. Using the frequency characteristics, the level of pilot signal and the delay-profile were calculated, and took statistics during the measurement. The statistics results of the pilot signal were higher than that of the receiving level. The results of the delay-profiles statistics, multi-paths lower than 20dB under fading phenomena were delay within 3×10^<-6> seconds.

Estimation method of radiated power from radio transmitter is proposed by using the statistical parameter measured with reverberation chamber system. It is considered that the multipass wave mixed by stirrer inside the reverberation chamber is a kind of random noise. We show theoretically that the cdf value of 63.2% of an envelope of direct wave with multipass wave is not depend on the rate of direct wave and mulltipas wave. And also we show the experimental result for estimation of radiated power from radio transmitter by using reverberation chamber system.

Electromagnetic Absorber with pyramidal dents at the surface has been made as the W-band type (75-110GHz). It was recognized that the absorber had excellent absorbance property at the whole W-band area in the case that the depth was about 1 wave length of lower frequency (75GHz).

The radio-frequency protection guidelines of Japan recommend the limits of contact current for contact hazard due to an ungrounded metallic object under an electromagnetic field. To arrange the standard measurement methods of contact current in Japan, the contact body impedances for Japanese adult male in the frequency range from 75 kHz to 15 MHz is obtained, and the simplified equivalent circuit is determined using nonlinear least squares method. In addition, the human body impedance is obtained from numerical simulation using the impedance method and a voxel human model, and compared with measured one.

As a technique for measuring high-frequency currents flowing through LSI pins, a non-contact detecting method for current distribution based on measurements of the near magnetic field distribution is investigated. The proposed technique draws the current distribution through iterative pattern matching between a measured near magnetic field distribution and the calculated from the assumed currents. By filtering with the layout data and iteratively converging on a solution, discrepancy between the magnetic field distribution by the obtained current and the measured magnetic field distribution becomes minimal. The proposed technique has a positional resolution of 0.5mm and realizes non-contact measurement of LSI pin currents.

We herein show analytical solutions for output voltage and coil current in the conductive and non-conductive periods of the transistor switch in a step-down switching regulator. Introducing two parameters x and y, then these solutions are transformed into simpler forms suitable for the numerical computation. Morover, all the possibilities for time development of the output voltage and coil current are classified by using differential wave forms of them, which is useful for making a flow chart of numerical computation program.
