We have been studying about the method for achieving 3D display system by using holography technique. Some methods about stereoscopic views were proposed, The size of image and viewing zone is limited. Our goal is to project the 3D-image in the space that can be seen easily. In this paper, we will propose the stereoscopic projection by dispersion of the light. It is simply called"3D Screen System".

A walk simulator on the school road by using computer generated three-dimensional scenery image is introduced. A paper printed map and an aerial photograph are used to create a three-dimensional map. Moreover, many human models are made and walking around in the scenery to represent realistic feeling. Here, Natural motion of each human is acquired by motioncaputuring.

When an image is given in a moving picture, a method to search for its correct frame location in the moving picture is proposed. First, the locations of scene change are detected and used for the rough search. Next, the target image is searched in detail between the selected representative images. An experiment by using images from the television shows that the method can obtain the correct location of the target image in a short time.

Several investigations were reported as inverse halftoning. In previous inverse halftoning methods, there are two problems. One is edge blurred when tone of the reconstructed image is smooth. Another one is that reduction of the noise is not sufficient when edge of reconstructed image is emphasized. In this article, Kalman filter is introducted into inverse halftoning to solve these two problems. As a result, the effectiveness of Kalman filter is shown from the viewpoint of noise reduction.

We proposed TVML(TV program Making Language)back in 1996 that is a scripting language to describe full TV progtams. This language describes the contents of a television program using expressions with a high level of abstraction like "display title #1" and "zoon-in." The software used to read a script written in TVML and to automatically generate the program video and audio is called a TVML Player. The paper begins by describing TVML language specifications, the latest version of TVML Player and some examples in TV program production using TVML. It then describes the "external control mode" of the TVML Player that can be used for applying TVML to interactive applications. Finally, it describes the TVML Author, a user interface that we developed which enables users having no specialized knowledge of computer languages to make TVML scripts. In addition to its role as a television-program production tool, TVML is expected to have a wide range of applications in the network and multimedia fields.

An autostereoscopic 3D workbench is realized based on new autostereoscopic display technology which combines real-image generation by large Fresnel lenses with binocular parallax presentation. In our system real image which includes parallax information floats in the air within the reach of viewer's hands. As a result discrepancy of binocular parallax and eyes' foucus which causes a sense of incongruity and eyestrain is reduced and realty of 3D image is increased so that the viewer can feel as if he or she were touching virtual 3D objects directly. The realized display can be applied to 3D drawing system, tele-operation and simulators of handwork such as surgery.
