In recent researches of VR, many kinds of immersive projection displays which surround users with high resolution stereoscopic images have been developed and evaluated for achieving highly immersive human-scale virtual environments. The latest systems adopt multi-projector architecture and provide both high resolution image projection and compact implementation effectively. In this paper, we show a recent implementation of such display system named "D-vision" in detail from technical aspects. And also, we illustrate a technique of pseudo-expansion of field-of-view with usual image contents like a TV, DVD and games. This technique can enrich immersive image contents without any additional costs. And finally, we briefly discuss about the technique to provide the effects of the immersive projection displays into our everyday environment

To augment vivid sensation which would be given by presenting visual images, contents and techniques of images could be innovated upon the understandings on human physical mechanisms. We measured human responses in studies in which images with known "motion vectors" were presented to volunteer subjects. Results obtained by physiological and psychological tests were analyzed with respect to autonomic nervous function. Future development of techniques in view of these results will be discussed.

We has revealed a new "true 3D display using laser plasma in the air" capable of projecting 1000 dots in every second. This 3D display made it possible to draw animations more smoothly than that reported last year. We proposed closed-type volumetric 3D display in the anisotropic dispersion containing organic dielectric nano/micro crystals.

We show fast running ability of Tyrannosaurus Rex by biomechanical calculation. Locomotion of T-Rex is calculated on the basis of human locomotion. Solid body model, Fourier expansion, and random algorithm are used to obtain the motion. As a result, possibilities for fast funning increases several times than Hutchinson's estimation.

Imaging technology is closely related to human vision. With the progress in Hi-Fi image rendering technologies and the advent of novel devices such as thin FPD or electronic paper, longing for aesthetic and realistic imaging is a never-ending story. The newest input devices are going ahead to capture HDR scenes, while display devices are still LDR and far short of human vision with 14 digits luminance range. Now, HDR to LDR visual tone mapping methods are actively developed. On the other hand, innovative wide color gamut displays are making possible to render realistic scene colors. Watching these trends, this paper introduces a vision-based image processing approaches to make use of high performance displays towards a pleasant color imaging.
