This paper is a report on the result of the influence of the male sex hormone on diptheria toxis death.
This experiment was performed with following 3 groups. (1) Healthy male Marmots as control. (2) Total ochitectomizied Marmots after 3 weeks; (3) Another group of injection of Andorostin 0.5cc. every day for 11 days.
The diptheria toxin (Parks & Davis Co. No. 8) was administrated subcutaneously to the above 3 groups in a dilution of 2cc. each containing 300, 400, 500, 600, 700, 800 and 1000 times of distilled water. We observed the dates of survival, and number of dead among the animals in a period of four days.
Conclusion (Experimental results)
1. The group of Marmots after total castration showed an increase of sensitivity to diphtherial intoxication.
2. The group of Marmots after Andorostin injection had a tendency to a depressing intoxication by diphtheria toxin.
3. The above experiment shows that the male sex hormon acts as an antidote to the intoxication of diphtheria toxin.
