In the development of non-specific urinary tract infections, the endogenous conditions existing mainly in the host are to be taken into consideration with the same importance to the activity of bacteria.
As one of the endogenous conditions, the experimental urinary tract infection was produced by injecting intravenously E. Coli into the rabbits given auto-sensitization like treatment in a wide sense sensitization by the extract of the bladder tissue of the same kind of rabbits.
    1. With the auto-sensitized rabbits, the excretion of bacteria in the urine continued, but with the non-treated control group, the excretion disappeared within 8 days after infection.
    2. At the initial stage of infection, the colonies were observed rather more in the urine with a higher dilution multiple, but such tendency was inhibited in the culture media added with EACA, AMCHA and T-AMCHA.
    3. The fibrinolytic activity in the urine was found stronger in the bacteriuria at the initial stage of infection with Standard Fibrin Plate Method than in the urine of the control group.
With the lapse of time, however, the fibrinolytic activity became not to be different from that of the control group.
    4. As regards the actions of EACA and T-AMCHA aginst the fibrinolytic activity in the urine, they both showed stronger inhibiting action to fibrinolysis of the urine with the higher concentration, and T-AMCHA was stronger in the inhibiting action than EACA at the same concentration.
    5. Plasma fibrinogen increased in volume within 3 days after infection but the activation of fibrinolytic enzyme was not observed
    6. The fibrinolytic activity of the kidney and bladder tissues themselves was marked within 10 days after infection.
    7. With Ouchterlony Method, precipitine could not be proved.
    8. Histologically, the more intensive change was observed in the rabbits which were previously given the sensitizing treatment.

A case of congenital aplasia of the left kidney was experienced of late. The function of the anomalous ureter was examined by means of electro-ureterography and urometry as well as other rontine examinations.
Case—a 16-year-old girl was diagnosed clinically as congenital aplasia of the left kidney, and the diagnosis was confirmed operatively. The left ureter remained grossly normal 12cm long from the ureteral orifice of the bladder, where it abruptly ended blindly. Peristaltic movement was seen by the naked eye, when the ureter was exposed.
In electro-ureterogram, action potential was clearly traced, indicating presence of ureteral peristalsis, despite the lack of the urinary flow. All action potential discharges traveled retrogradely from the ureteral orifice. The discharge occurred regularly in a certain pace, but sometimes, it failed to occur, when a discharge of another pace interposed inbetween. Measurements of action potential waves remained within the normal values reported in the previous communication, although they were retrogradely-travelling waves.
In urometrogram, intraureteral pressure flucutations were clearly seen. They occurred in two different paces, predominantly in the regular pace and sometimed in the interosed pace as noted in the E. U. G. The values of the intraureteral pressure were within normal range. When the intravesical pressure was raised by infusion of physiologic saline solution, a decrease in interval of contractions, increase in intraureteral resting and contractile pressures and marked prolongation of ureteral contraction were noted, just as the same reaction as seen in the normal ureter.

Percutaneous raio-pyelography, a modification of radiopyelography is introcuded in this report. This method is devised to utilize radio-pyelography in the cases in which ureteral catheterizztion is extremely difficult to perform. The same principle and procedure as in radio-pyelography were applied, except for percutaneous introduction of radio-isotope into the renal pelvis. Four cases in which this method was performed were presented here with analysis of the obtained radio-pyelograms.

We observed 14 cases of tumors of the testis during the period of 10 years from January 1, 1955 to April 30, 1964. A statistical study was made on these 14 cases in addition to the materials of testicular tumors reported to us from main medical facilities in our country. The results obtained are as follows.
    As to our cases;
    1. incidence: 0.25% (14 out of 5, 537 male patients).
    2. Side of affection: 6 cases on right side, 7 cases on left side and a case on both sides. The only case seen on both sides was seminoma, first on the left side and later on the right, 5 months after the left orchiectomy.
    3. Histopathology: seminoma in 10 cases and sarcoma, embryonal carcinoma, embryonal carcinoma with seminoma, and teratoma respectively in one case.
    4. Treatment: All the 14 cases were treated with orchiectomy and radiationtherapy.
    5. Further course: The course is unknown in 2 cases, 2 cases died 12 and 8 months respectively after orchiectomy and the remaining 10 cases are still alive.
Out of the whole reports from main medical facilities in out country, 464 cases contained histopathological diagnosis, and the statistics are as follows.
    1. Incidence of malignant tumors of testis: 0.18% (374 cases among 20, 257 male patients). The age of those cases ranged from 5 months to 85 years.
    2. Affected sides of 450 cases of testicular tumors: 238 cases (52.9%) on right side, 199 cases (44.2%) on left side and 13 cases on both sides.
    3. Number of cases of cryptorchidism: 25 (5.4%) out of the 464 reported cases.
    4. Histological statistics of 464 cases: seminoma in 273 cases (58.8%), embryonal carcinoma in 76 cases (16.3%), teratoma in 49 cases (10.5%).
    5. Treatment: 205 patients (44.1%) treated with orchiectomy and radiation therapy, 103 patients (22.2%) with orchiectomy, lymphadenectomy and irradiation, 86 patients (18.5%) merely with orchiectomy.
    6. Course: Though inaccurate because of incomplete description as to life or death, 41 patients (22.6%) out of 181 cases of seminoma, 9 patients (19.1%) out of 47 cases of embryonal carcinoma and a patient (2.9%) out of 34 cases of teratoma were found still alive for more than five years. As a whole, 55 patients (17.7%) out of 310 cases seemed surviving longer than five years.

A 14-year-old boy with abnormal sex chromosome constitution was reported. The boy was screened from mental deficiency boys by sex chromatin test using buccal smear. The patient was born when his father was 39 and his mother was 38 years old. Physical examination of the patient was normal except slight epicanthus, clinodactyly of both 5th fingers and small testes. His intelligence was retarded, IQ 63.
Hormonal assay; The urinary excretion of 17-KS was 2.27-4.28mg/day and the FSH value was more than 48muu/day.
Testicular biopsy; The seminiferous tubules were few in number and found primarily in areas with numerous Leydig cells. The basement membrane was thickned and the lining of the seminiferous tubules consisted of Sertoli cells and rarely germinal epithelium. The remaining areas were filled with loose connective tissue.
Cytological study; 1). 130 (65%) typical sex chromatin masses (one Barr body) were present in 200 cells in buccal smear stained by Guard's method. 2). Chromosome counting was made in 40 leucocytes in which 37 cells were found to have 48 chromosomes. Detailed morphological analysis of the chromosomes was made and it was revealed that each cells here analyzed had two X chromosomes and two Y chromosomes in their sex chromosome constitutions.
This is the first case reported in Japan and the 15th case in the world literature.
