Our investigations on the absorption of the therapeutic silver solutions through the urethra of human beings and animals have already reached the effective stage in treat-ments. The results of our laboratory tests, as published in the two previous reports, revealed that the silver nitrate was absorbed 0.1-0.05% solution in human beings and 0.2 in animals. The time required for the above absorptive process was approximately 10 minutes, during which time the silver was definitely demonstrated in silver reaction preparations.
In the present (3 rd) report, as the title indicates, we studied the behavior of the bladder. In the preliminary examinations, the absorption of 16 varieties of therapeutic drugs, divided into 19 types with respect to the urine and other solutions, were determined with 35 rabbits. The results of the examinations indicated that the bladder showed the following classifications with reference to the solutions.
    (1) Non-absorption
    (2) Absorption
    (3) Exudation
The 40-50% of the injected therapeutic silver solution, belonging to the absorption group, was absorbed in 24 hours. This absorption mechanism, however, is quite complic-ated and its nature was studied in detail with silver reaction preparations of guinea pig bladder tissue. The. results demonstrated that 0.1-0.2% silver nitrate solution infiltrated nearly the entire bladder tissue in 10 minutes. In case where the silver solution was kept in the bladder for 12-24 hours, the absorbed silver was demonstrated within the vascular system of the kidney, as well as within the liver.
