Concert productions nowadays are recorded using many cameras. Each cameras is recorded separately, in a method known as ISOLATION. MultiChannel recording is normal in audio, where as many as 48 channels can be recorded on a single tape. However, this is not the case in video, due to video bandwidth being much greater than audio. Although isolation recording is common practice, there are many underlying problems, such as space, cost, power consumption, and air conditioning needs. But all of this is no longer an issue, with the advent of the Video MultiChannel Recorder, which makes use of HDTV D6 technology to record 8 NTSC images on a single D6 cassette.
